Day 4, 2025 year end ride to Phuket.
On the way to Krabi, you can see this temple situated on top of limestone cliff. Took a detour, turns out you have to hike up a thousand steep steps, 1260 steps to be exact as stated on the stairway. The effort was well worth it, as the summit offers a breathtaking panoramic view of Krabiโs mountains, forests, and coastline.
Sitting majestically at the top of the hill, the enormous golden Buddha statue serves as a symbol of peace and spiritual enlightenment

Day 2, 2025 year end ride to Phuket.
As the day ends, need to find a place to settle. Google map showed a lot of viewpoint and campsites on the area but was not accurate, I was lost following unknown road trying to find a place to camp. I found myself to this top of the hill then starts raining. It was hard to approach people due to language barrier, asked for a place to stay and the owner was very kind to offer a space to pitch my tent. The area is famous for picturesque mountain, valleys sunrise and sea of clouds view. Not lucky for the perfect view the next morning but still had a great clearing.
Very thankful to the owner, even gave me food when I left the next morning. Sadly, only to be stolen by a monkey on my next camp area.

Main goal was supposedly to summit Mt. Kerinci before heading back, but the route was difficult than expected ๐ With limited touring days, decided to summit Mt. Talang instead which is another active volcano and along the route. Abang Mus happened to have contact in the place that made easier to find a guide and a place to stay.
2-3 hours to the summit if starting in the trailhead which you need to pay a motorcycle transport to get you there from the town. Started early in the morning for the sunrise and be back before lunch.
Once at the summit, with luck you can get rewarded with beautiful sunrise and sea of clouds, you got a peek of Mt. Kerinci dubbed as the rooftop of Sumatra and other neighboring mountains Tandikat, Singgalang, Marapi, Sago. A view of the multiple lakes Singkarak, Dibawah, Diatas and Talang. Summit an active volcano โ
Definitely will be back for Mt. Kerinci!
