𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗲𝘁𝘀𝘂 — 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆. 🚐

Mr. Herie has been with Setsu since 2016, starting off as a CNC Lathe Loader. Today, as our Dispatch cm General Worker, he’s constantly on the move — delivering parts for secondary processes, collecting from suppliers, and keeping things flowing between Setsu and our vendors.

When he’s not out on the road, you’ll likely find him lending a hand at the production floor 🏭 or helping out with packing 📦 and loading at the Quality department. Always ready to step in wherever needed, Herie has become someone the team relies on without a second thought.

When asked what he likes about Setsu, his answer is simple — the benefits, the nature of his work that takes him to different places, the close working relationship with the Quality team, and Setsu's close proximity to home.

Outside of work, Herie is the anchor that holds the 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 family strong and values time with his loved ones. When he’s not working, you’ll likely find him jogging, playing football or futsal, or bringing his 7 kids out for a day at the mall — simple moments he enjoys the most. Despite the adversities in life, Herie is a strong human being who braces through it all with a hearty smile 💪🏻

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 👨‍🎓 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴. This became clear during the recent visit by students from Meiji University, Japan to Setsu.

In March, we had the pleasure of hosting 9 graduate and undergraduate students, together with 2 Associate Professors from the Mechanical Engineering faculty of Meiji University, Japan.

The group was in Malaysia for a 3-day study tour organised in collaboration with the 🏫 Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT) at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. As part of their programme, Setsu was one of two manufacturing facilities they visited, the other being a 3D printing factory.

During the session, we shared insights into our design considerations, manufacturing processes, and quality control practices. The discussion also extended to broader industry topics such as US tariffs and their implications, material sourcing and origin, as well as the quotation process in precision engineering.

The students were highly inquisitive, asking thoughtful questions about the operations and technologies behind precision machining. One particularly interesting question explored whether tools like ChatGPT could assist in generating programming codes for precision machining — highlighting how the next generation of engineers is already thinking about the intersection of manufacturing and emerging technologies! 😀

A big thank you 👏 to Mr Kumaresen Perumal and Mr vijay Kumar for guiding the group through the plant and patiently addressing their many questions, and to Ms Malarveely K. for coordinating the visit.

We hope the visit provided the students with a valuable glimpse into real-world manufacturing and a deeper appreciation of the processes behind precision engineering.

𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝘁 – 𝗔𝗻 𝗢𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁, 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 📝

From 16–18 March, Setsu Precision Technology underwent our annual integrated audit covering three international standards:

1️⃣ ISO 9001 – Quality Management System
2️⃣ ISO 14001 – Environmental Management System
3️⃣ ISO 45001 – Occupational Health & Safety Management System

This year’s audit was particularly demanding as it included:

1️⃣ ISO 9001 – Re-certification Audit
2️⃣ ISO 45001 – Re-certification Audit
3️⃣ ISO 14001 – Surveillance Audit

Over the three days, auditors reviewed multiple departments, examined our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and inspected operations on the production floor. The assessment focused not only on documented systems but also on how effectively our processes are implemented in practice — including operational controls, environmental compliance, and workplace safety practices.

The audit was conducted by TÜV NORD, a globally recognised certification body known for its rigorous and structured assessment approach.

📣 Credit goes to Ms. Sumathi, who led the preparation efforts. The groundwork started earlier with our internal audit conducted in Q4 2025, allowing the team to identify potential gaps and take corrective actions well ahead of the certification audit.

As Setsu continues to grow — with new machines, upgraded systems, and expanding teams — maintaining strong operational standards becomes even more critical. These audits serve as valuable checkpoints to ensure our systems remain robust, effective, and aligned with international expectations.

Continuous improvement remains at the core of how we operate.

𝗔𝗻 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 🌙

We recently came together for a simple Iftar after work, breaking fast as a team during the holy month of Ramadan. The evening began with prayers 🤲🏻 led by Mr. Khairol, setting a calm and meaningful tone.

We also had some good news to share 🎉 — Mr. Faiz’s promotion to Production Supervisor, where he will be working alongside Mr. Vijay as we keep up with our growing demands and two-shift operations. It’s always rewarding to see our people grow within the company.

As the night went on, we also presented a small token of contribution to Mr. Herrie, our ever-reliable dispatch cm general worker — made possible through the ESG team’s recycling efforts. A simple gesture that reflects the spirit of giving during this season.

The evening wrapped up with Hari Raya ang pow distribution by Madam Sumathi, adding a festive touch to the gathering. Overall, it was a meaningful evening that brought us closer and deepened our appreciation for each other’s cultures and traditions!

🫡 𝗔 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘁 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗿. 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗶

There are moments in a company’s journey that remind us that behind every system, process, and achievement are the people who made them possible. One such important moment this year was Mr Anthoni's farewell where we gathered for a farewell lunch and small get-together to honour Mr. Anthoni.

The session was filled with heartfelt speeches and personal reflections from the team, many sharing how much they valued his teamwork, reliability, and willingness to share his knowledge with anyone who approached him. It didn’t matter who the person was — Mr. Anthoni was always ready to guide, support, and help 😃

His journey with Setsu reflects the story of our growth. In our early days, when we operated from a small shop lot without an ERP system, ISO certifications, or even a dedicated engineering department, Mr. Anthoni took on multiple responsibilities, including stepping in as Engineering Head. Those were times of long hours, manual processes, and pure hard work — driven by a shared commitment to get things done.

As Setsu grew, so did his role. Over the years, his leadership continued to expand, and today, he retires as our Senior Engineering Manager, overseeing both the Quotation and Maintenance Departments.

During the gathering, Mr. Anthoni also shared a few words — reflecting on the journey, the challenges, the work trips he took and the people he worked alongside. It was an 🥹 emotional session, filled with gratitude, memories, and yes, a few tears. A small token of appreciation was presented as a symbol of our sincere thanks for his many years of dedication and contribution.

We are deeply grateful for his contributions and wish him a fulfilling and well-deserved retirement. Thank you, Mr. Anthoni, for being part of our journey 🙏🏻

Throwback 💫 to when we welcomed a team of technical sales engineers from a local company supporting the petrochemical, power, and oil & gas sectors — industries where reliability and precision are critical. The visit was arranged on ⏱️ short notice, taking place on the very last working day of 2025, and our team was glad to promptly accommodate their request.

During the session, we reviewed previously shared quotations and discussed the machining intricacies involved, including tolerances, materials, and process considerations. This was followed by a brief company introduction and a walkthrough of our plant, where they observed ongoing CNC milling and turning operations, tooling capabilities, quality inspection equipment, as well as our cleanroom ultrasonic cleaning setup.

It was a concise yet productive visit made possible through teamwork 🫱🏻‍🫲🏼

𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝟱𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗛𝗮𝘀 𝗔𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱! 🎉

There’s something special about uncrating a new machine — that mix of excitement, pride, and anticipation for what’s ahead. A couple of weeks ago, a brand new SR-32JIII Type A/B CNC Swiss-Type Automatic Lathe officially joined the Setsu family, marking our 50th production machine on the floor!

This addition represents another significant investment in our commitment to precision and capability. Built for both flexibility and performance, it can run with or without a guide bushing, achieve spindle speeds up to 8,000 RPM, and support up to 30 tool stations — a true workhorse for complex, high-accuracy parts.

But beyond the specs, this milestone means a lot to us. It’s a reflection of how far we’ve come as a team. It represents the trust our customers place in us, the dedication of our people on the ground, and our shared belief in continuous improvement. Watching the 50th machine take its place on the floor was a reminder that growth doesn’t happen overnight — it’s built on clear goals, on calculated investment, on challenges, and on achievements that drive us forward.

Here’s to new capabilities, new challenges, and the people behind them who make every milestone matter. 💙

𝗔 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗹𝗶 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 🪔✨

We gathered for a night that was anything but work — a chance to celebrate the season and enjoy a different side of life at Setsu. Our Deepavali dinner was filled with colour and energy: lively performances by our colleagues, a cheerful Best Dressed competition, and a beautiful rangoli (kolam) made by the women at Setsu. With great food on the table and a few of our suppliers joining us, the evening was nothing short of vibrant and memorable.

While processes and systems keep Setsu moving, it’s our people who bring meaning, warmth, and spirit to everything we do. The teamwork, creativity, and camaraderie that shone that night are the very qualities that shape who we are as a company.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped plan and organise the event. Moments like these strengthen the bonds that make Setsu more than just a workplace.
