BlazeTech was proud to be one of the Malaysia Digital (MD) Status companies showcased at the Borneo Adventure Hunt launch on 10 September.

It was a great opportunity to connect with the community, share our digital and corporate solutions, and be part of Sabah's growing digital innovation ecosystem.

Thank you to everyone who visited our booth. See you at the next event! 💙

Recently, on 8 September 2026, Blaze Tech had the opportunity to be part of the Startups and SMEs Sabah meetup of 'Building Business in Sabah', a community-driven event bringing together founders, entrepreneurs and ecosystem players to discuss the realities of building and growing technology businesses in Sabah. The event was jointly organised by JomHack together with KitaBuild LLP and the wider KitaBuild community.

Our CEO, Christina Chia, joined the panel alongside fellow founders and ecosystem players for a candid conversation on what it really takes to build, grow and scale a technology business from Sabah. The discussion covered everything from entrepreneurship, funding and commercialisation to market access, digital awareness, communication and the importance of retaining the human touch as technology continues to evolve.

It was very encouraging to hear the different perspectives on where Sabah's technology and startup ecosystem is heading, and what we can collectively do to strengthen it in the years ahead.

A big thank you to the organisers, fellow panellists and everyone who joined the conversation. We look forward to more opportunities to connect, exchange ideas and contribute to the growth of Sabah's tech community.

Knowing who is considered a person connected to a director is an important part of understanding corporate governance and compliance.

Section 197 of the Companies Act 2016 defines the individuals and entities that are legally deemed to be connected to a director, including family members, trustees, business partners, and body corporates associated through control or significant voting rights.

Understanding these connections helps companies identify potential conflicts of interest, ensure transparency in decision-making, and comply with the governance requirements under the Companies Act 2016.

Stay informed. Stay compliant.

Proper accounting records are not merely an administrative requirement. They form part of a company’s accountability and financial transparency.

Section 245 of the Companies Act 2016 places responsibility on companies and their officers to ensure that proper accounting and other records are maintained. Recent enforcement action by SSM also reinforces the importance of getting this right, as non-compliance can carry significant penalties.

Company resolutions are more than a formality. They are how shareholders exercise their decision-making rights.

Sections 290 to 293 of the Companies Act 2016 set out the framework for passing company resolutions, including how ordinary and special resolutions are determined and how voting rights apply.

Understanding these rules helps companies conduct meetings properly, document decisions clearly, and reduce the risk of disputes over whether a resolution was validly passed.

Looking back at the Investment Readiness Workshop 2026 organised by SCENIC in late June, where our CEO, Christina Chia, shared practical insights with entrepreneurs and innovators over two days.

The workshop covered key areas of becoming investment-ready, from funding pathways and investible business models to financial readiness, valuation, corporate governance and investor relations.

Participants also had opportunities to put what they had learned into practice through pitching and feedback, with guest speakers contributing further perspectives on investor expectations and the wider investment ecosystem.

As part of Blaze Tech’s commitment to being an active ecosystem builder, we are glad to contribute to initiatives that equip entrepreneurs with practical knowledge, strengthen the MSME community and create more opportunities for sustainable business growth.

When a company depends on a single director, continuity becomes especially important.

Section 209 of the Companies Act 2016 provides a framework for what happens when a sole or last remaining director resigns, vacates office or passes away, helping ensure that the company is not left without a way forward.

For companies with lean leadership structures, having the right succession and governance arrangements in place can make all the difference when an unexpected change occurs.
