We all know the data,
About one-third of landfill waste is food waste.

But when it comes to practice,
how many of us have actually started sorting it?

At a recent sustainability meet & greet with tenants at Toppen Shopping Centre, this was exactly the conversation we brought into the room.

Not more information.
But a reality check on action.

Because most food waste today doesn’t fail at awareness. It fails at system.

It gets thrown away before it ever becomes something else.

At FOLO, we’ve been working with Toppen over the years to slowly change how this works on the ground.

We don’t just collect food waste.
We redesign its journey.

From waste → compost → soil → food again.
A loop that turns disposal into regeneration.

We’re honoured to support Toppen’s rooftop community garden with FOLO fertilisers —
made from food waste that would otherwise be forgotten.

Now, it feeds something living.
Something visible.
Something people can stand next to and grow with.

The FOLO team just completed a 2-day training supported by the UNDP & Microsoft Capacity Building Grant. It helped us bring together many ideas we’ve been working on, turning scattered efforts into a more intentional and connected path.

We’re taking FOLO to the next level as a social enterprise!

母亲节将至，你有计划憑花寄意吗？
我最近在想，妈妈这种生物，真的会喜欢那些稍纵即逝的花束吗？

前阵子回家，我跟我妈聊起，
在我小时候，她在天台打造的那个小菜园。

她一下就打开了话匣子。

说那阵子收成了两条很好吃的节瓜
还有一些 cherry tomato，
不过种叶菜最麻烦，要捉虫，
忙到半死，也吃不到多少。

她讲得很兴奋。

我才慢慢意识到，
在那段都得围着孩子转的日子里，
她也有自己很喜欢、很投入的事情。

我只记得小时候，
她种的玫瑰开花了，
她很兴奋的喊我过去看。
那时候的我，
怎么懂得欣赏。

长大后，也为人母了，
才恍然大悟每个妈妈的心中，
都有一个属于自己的田园梦。

只是生活太忙，
孩子、家庭、日常，
妈妈总在各种选择之间来回纠结。
那些需要时间慢慢耕耘的梦，
就会被搁在一旁。

如今的我，
可以选择带孩子去菜园。
但那时候的她，
并没有这样的选择。

那你，又会怎么选？

会不会在母亲节的周末，
选择另一种方式，
出去走走，看看花，画一幅画，
再一起吃一些，真的可以入口的花。

不是很特别的安排，
只是一个，
妈妈们可能都会 quietly 喜欢的上午吧。

就一段互相陪伴的时光。
不是挺好的吗？
