OUT-OF-GAUGE (OOG) CARGO DISCHARGE OPERATIONS

Tanjung Langsat Port (TLP) continues to strengthen its position as a reliable and capable gateway for the handling of out-of-gauge (OOG) cargo and heavy-lift equipment within the regional maritime and logistics network. With established infrastructure, experienced personnel, and robust operational planning, TLP is well-equipped to manage complex cargo movements that require specialized lifting, transport, and berth coordination.

The recent RTG dismantling project serves as a significant milestone, demonstrating TLP’s capability in executing technically demanding operations involving oversized and heavy equipment. The project required close coordination across multiple disciplines, including marine services, terminal operations, and landside logistics, ensuring a seamless interface between vessel handling, cargo discharge, and onward transportation.

The operation was carried out under strict compliance with established safety protocols, risk assessments, and method statements. Emphasis was placed on safe lifting practices, equipment integrity, personnel competency, and continuous monitoring to ensure that all activities were conducted in a controlled and incident-free environment.

TLP records its sincere appreciation to the Bulk and Break-bulk Terminal (BBT), lead by Haji Jack Abbas and team their professionalism, commitment, and teamwork in successfully completing the dismantling and handling of the first eleven (11) RTG units at the port. Their collective efforts have reinforced TLP’s capability in managing high-risk and complex cargo operations in accordance with industry best practices.

Moving forward, TLP remains committed to supporting more OOG and heavy-lift cargo projects, leveraging its strategic location, operational expertise, and strong safety culture to deliver efficient, safe and reliable logistics solutions to its stakeholders.
