We were honoured to welcome the Broadcasting Club under the Centre for Culture and Arts, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) and Jason Chai to Made In Ipoh Museum as part of their documentary project, Peranakan: A Living Heritage.

The documentary explores the living heritage of the Peranakan Chinese / Straits Chinese (Baba Nyonya) community in Ipoh, highlighting the unique blend of Chinese and Malay cultural influences through their traditions, cuisine, heritage attire, lifestyle, and cultural values that continue to be preserved today.

As part of the projectโ€™s objective, the team aims to document and promote the cultural heritage of the Peranakan community while fostering greater appreciation for Malaysiaโ€™s rich multicultural identity through a high-quality educational documentary.

Made In Ipoh Museum was selected as one of the filming locations for its authentic storytelling, heritage collections, and immersive exhibits that reflect Ipohโ€™s history and Peranakan legacy, making it an ideal setting to support the documentaryโ€™s cultural narrative.

We are truly honoured to be part of this meaningful initiative and wish the team every success in bringing this inspiring story to a wider audience. Thank you for choosing Made In Ipoh Museum.
