Dinner sorted. Trout pulled straight from cold mountain waters. In the oven an hour later. Doesn’t get much better than that.

Head to the link in my profile to hear me and talk about our book with KCRW (Los Angeles) ‘Good Food’ host Evan Kleiman. We recorded it on book tour in late 2017 and the show rebooted it over the weekend. A couple good memories from book research: Lake Van ( ), a huge saline lake not far from Iran, and lamb and tomato curry with fresh pide, both hot out of the wood-fired oven at our favorite bread bakery in Van, Little Star — both prepared by the bakery’s proprietor. The curry was a really tasty surprise and is super easy. Therecipe is in the book. @ Van, Turkey
