At the Ambakarathur Patrakaliamman Temple, Air Itam, Penang, after a period of vegetarian fasting for the Fire Walking ceremony, prayers are offered to the Goddess before devotees resume a non-vegetarian diet. This year, in her memory, I joined the Chong Nam Brothers Team to serve 6,000 Karuvadu Kulambhu meals in Kampung Baru, Penang. It is a unique practice found in some Malaysian temples, deeply woven into the culture and traditions of the local community. ❤️🙏🏾🔥

As the eldest male grandchild of the family, I had the honour of leading our Ubayam (contribution) as part of this year's Fire Walking ceremony. Standing alongside my father, Susie, and our family, I was reminded that these traditions are more than rituals—they are threads that connect us to those who came before us and those who will follow.
