𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝗫 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲: 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆

𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗠𝗘𝗢 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗦𝗔𝗠, , in collaboration 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆, successfully organised 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝗫 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, a mathematics art competition that brought together secondary school students to explore the creative possibilities of mathematics through Desmos.

Working in teams of two, students transformed mathematical equations and graphs into original digital artworks. The competition featured two categories: Lower Secondary (Forms 1–3) and Upper Secondary (Forms 4–5).

Throughout the competition, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲. GraphX 2026 provided a meaningful platform for participants to experience mathematics beyond conventional classroom exercises and discover how mathematical concepts can be used to create visually engaging works of art.

𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗠𝗘𝗢 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗦𝗔𝗠 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 to the 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 for their enthusiastic involvement. 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸𝘀 are also extended to 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗷𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘀, 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗠𝗘𝗢 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗦𝗔𝗠 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺, whose dedication and support contributed to the successful implementation of GraphX 2026.

🌟 SPARKED INNOVATIVE TEACHING WITH GENERATIVE AI

SEAMEO RECSAM successfully organised the Sparked Innovative Teaching with Generative AI workshop on 15 September 2026 at ICT Lab 1, SEAMEO RECSAM, Penang.

The workshop provided educators with opportunities to explore the potential of Generative AI in education, discover innovative teaching approaches, and gain practical insights into integrating AI tools into teaching and learning.

Through engaging activities and hands-on exploration, participants were encouraged to embrace technology, enhance their teaching practices, and strengthen their readiness for future-ready education.

A special appreciation to our facilitators, Ms. Sivaranjini Sinniah and Mr. Mohd Faizal bin Zainoldin, for sharing their knowledge, expertise, and valuable insights with the participants.

SEAMEO RECSAM was pleased to support the 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲-𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗜-𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺 (𝗔𝗜𝗣𝗖), held on 𝟭𝟱 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, organised by the 𝗣𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 (𝗝𝗣𝗡 𝗣𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘂 𝗣𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗴) in collaboration with 𝗦𝗠𝗞 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝘂 𝗠𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗴. The programme highlighted the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into teaching and learning, showcasing AI-Powered Educational tools and innovative classroom practices to support digital transformation and technology-enhanced education.

The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to strengthening innovation, digital learning and partnerships among educators and education stakeholders in advancing AI Education in schools.

🤖 𝗜𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗩𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗜𝗡 𝗠𝗢𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡. 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗠 𝗜𝗡 𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡.

SEAMEO RECSAM proudly supported the 𝗪𝗥𝗙-𝗔𝘀𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 held on 𝟭𝟬–𝟭𝟭 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 bringing together robotics, STEM education and innovation in a dynamic platform for hands-on learning, creativity and competition.

Organised by 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗼𝘁 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲 (𝗪𝗥𝗙) in collaboration with 𝗞𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗷 𝗩𝗼𝗸𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗞𝗮𝗷𝗮𝗻𝗴 the championship provided participants with opportunities to strengthen problem-solving, teamwork, creativity and technological skills while exploring the practical applications of robotics.

The RECSAM Makerspace Team, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗪𝗮𝗻 𝗡𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗱𝘇𝗺𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗱 𝗦𝗮𝗯𝗿𝗶, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗻, 𝗠𝘀. 𝗡𝘂𝗿𝗘𝘇𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗶 𝗬𝘂𝘀𝗼𝗳𝗳, 𝗠𝗿. 𝗛𝗮𝘀𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘂𝗳𝗲𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗱 𝗛𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗻, 𝗠𝗿. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗮𝗷𝗲𝘀𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝘀. 𝗦𝘂𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗶 𝗠𝗱. On 12th September 2026, SEAMEO RECSAM successfully organised the Webinar on AI in the Classroom: A Regional Competition for Transforming STEAM Pedagogy, bringing together educators from across the region to explore the potential of Artificial Intelligence in transforming teaching and learning.

The webinar officially introduced the regional competition and provided participants with an overview of the competition requirements, registration procedures, judging criteria, submission process and competition timeline. Participants also gained practical insights from Dr. Riyaz Ahamed, Educator, Entipivi Digital Advisory, who shared strategies for integrating Artificial Intelligence into teaching and learning to transform STEAM education.

On 𝟮𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, a meaningful School Tryout Session was successfully conducted at 𝗦𝗝𝗞𝗧 𝗦𝘂𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘆𝗮 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗲 involving 30 participants from nine Southeast Asian Countries.

The session provided participants with an opportunity to translate ideas and approaches from professional learning into authentic classroom practice, while engaging directly with teachers and pupils in a real school context. It also created a valuable platform for regional exchange, collaboration, reflection, and the sharing of diverse educational perspectives.

Our sincere appreciation goes to the school administrators, teachers, pupils, participants, and everyone involved for their warm support and cooperation in making this session a meaningful learning experience.

Together, we continue to strengthen regional collaboration and advance quality education across Southeast Asia.

From 8–10 September 2026, SEAMEO RECSAM took on the National Invention & Innovation Competition, Exhibition and Robot-Sumo 2026 (NICERS'26) at Politeknik Sultanah Bahiyah, Kulim, Kedah, and came home victorious!

Competing in the Open Category of Cluster B (AI & Digital Technology), our team introduced "𝐂𝐢𝐤𝐠𝐨𝐨 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐀𝐈", a programme designed to help elementary and primary school students learn and play with Mathematics.

𝐌𝐫 𝐌𝐨𝐡𝐝 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐥 𝐙𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧, 𝐌𝐫 𝐌𝐨𝐡𝐝 𝐇𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐥 𝐙𝐮𝐥𝐤𝐢𝐟𝐥𝐢, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐫 𝐁𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐦 𝐁𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐮𝐦 proudly showcased the programme to judges and the public, sharing how it can spark interest and boost engagement in Mathematics. The results?

On 𝟮𝟴𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, SEAMEO RECSAM conducted an insightful 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗚𝗢𝗧𝗧 𝗦𝗱𝗻. 𝗕𝗵𝗱. as part of the Regular Course involving 30 participants from nine Southeast Asian Countries.

The visit provided participants with valuable exposure to industry practices, innovation, and the practical application of knowledge beyond the classroom. It also created an opportunity for meaningful regional exchange, professional learning, and the sharing of perspectives among educators from across Southeast Asia.
