Another meaningful and engaging session completed with the team from 1 Group Melaka for the โ€œF&B Basics Service Excellenceโ€ Batch 1 program on 18th & 19th May 2026.

Throughout the session, participants explored the importance of developing the right hospitality mindset, building a positive service culture, maintaining professional standards, strengthening guest communication, handling feedback effectively, enhancing product confidence and creating memorable dining experiences through teamwork and service consistency.

But sometimes, the answer is much simpler than complicated marketing strategies or loyalty programs.

For me, some of the greatest โ€œ๐–๐Ž๐–โ€ ๐…๐š๐œ๐ญ๐จ๐ซ can sometimes be found in the simplest places - the local Chinese food courts, Mamak restaurants and Malay stalls I regularly patronize.

๐Ÿ‘‹ The ๐”๐ง๐œ๐ฅ๐ž ๐š๐ง๐ ๐€๐ฎ๐ง๐ญ๐ฒ who ๐š๐œ๐ค๐ง๐จ๐ฐ๐ฅ๐ž๐๐ ๐ž๐ฌ ๐ฆ๐ž the moment I walk in.
๐Ÿฅค The staff who already knows my ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐š๐ฅ ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐ค.
๐Ÿ’ฌ The simple โ€œ๐๐ˆ๐€๐’๐€โ€ before I even place my order.
๐Ÿ˜Š The ๐ ๐ž๐ง๐ฎ๐ข๐ง๐ž ๐ฌ๐ฆ๐ข๐ฅ๐ž and ๐ฐ๐ž๐ฅ๐œ๐จ๐ฆ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐›๐จ๐๐ฒ ๐ฅ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ฎ๐š๐ ๐ž that instantly makes me feel comfortable.

These may seem like small gestures, but they create something powerful - ๐€ ๐๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐‚๐จ๐ง๐ง๐ž๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง.

As a customer, whenever I experience genuinely good service, I often ask the staff for their ๐ง๐š๐ฆ๐ž๐ฌ. To me, that is one of the ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐จ๐ง๐ ๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ ๐ฌ๐ข๐ ๐ง๐ฌ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐š ๐ซ๐ž๐š๐ฅ ๐ฌ๐ž๐ซ๐ฏ๐ข๐œ๐ž ๐ž๐ฑ๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž - when the connection becomes personal enough for the ๐œ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐จ๐ฆ๐ž๐ซ ๐ญ๐จ ๐š๐œ๐ค๐ง๐จ๐ฐ๐ฅ๐ž๐๐ ๐ž ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐จ๐ง ๐›๐ž๐ก๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ฌ๐ž๐ซ๐ฏ๐ข๐œ๐ž.

Especially here in Malaysia, food is more than just a meal. It is ๐œ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ž, ๐Ÿ๐š๐ฆ๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐š๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ, ๐œ๐จ๐ฆ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ก๐ฎ๐ฆ๐š๐ง ๐ข๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐š๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง.
