Midtown Residential @ Bandar Sejahtera for Aman Teamwork. The design of the houses are inspired by the local community and context.

The architecture roof was designed as a shield from heat weather, and creates good ventilation , just like a tropical roof function, but with dramatic geometrical structure with big overhangs. The open terraces, big opening windows, overhanging roofs, are highlighted by the volumetry of the houses, making it a functional and aesthetic way of living.

Ooi Residence was conceptualized as an amalgamation of the serenity of the site and the client’s requirement of a simple and sumptuous house. The façade of the house was inspired by Various Sections of walls, composed together to show the slices of the visible form. Covid-19 has raised the question on how we design and how we are responsible in shaping our future built environment. In this project, our buildings entrances faced onto the car park, small patios were designed to humanize the portals and allow natural ventilations to breeze through the building.

Designed with a modern tropical style that combines with the tropical climate of Malaysia. The facade of each unit is designed to look distinctively individual but yet combine in function spaces. Taman Hidayah, Alor Setar, Kedah

Oryza Vila involves a modern take on a traditional typology. The vila offers light and airy spaces, a seamless connection to the inside and outside spaces, and a leisure-based lifestyle. Natural materials, a levitated roof, and passive design principals result in a home that sits harmoniously within its pristine setting. Deep overhangs was designed to further minimize the structure’s height and help elongate its horizontal shape, while asymmetrical window and door arrangements highlight the modern aspects of the residence and provide a rhythm underneath the unifying roof. The roofing system is a multi-layered composite one which has external aluminium and internal timber. Wooden planks and MS rafters enveloped by wood beneath the roof yields an inherent dynamism to the ceiling. The openings beneath the roof generate a play of light and shadow on the ceiling plane. Large overhangs that hang down from the roof cuts the direct light and helps reduce the solar gain through the clear.The most successful effort in sustainability is the use of natural light and air. In its opened up form, ie. with all its doors and windows opened up, it blends into a perfect continuum with the natural tropical surroundings. The interior spaces are well ventilated, shaded and protected from heat by the roof and double glazed openings, cutting down the energy use significantly. The totally glazed living room has completely openable/ foldable/ pivoted windows giving it an absolutely open to nature ventilation.
