Tulum is very bike friendly and the 25-minute bike ride to the white sanded and coconut-covered Tulum beaches is highly recommended. There is one more thing that will make your stay truly unforgettable: your enigmatic host, a Mexican lady nicknamed tha Sista that arrived at the Mexican- and Central American Caribbean waters 20 years ago. She will make sure you don’t run out of delicious incense and that the bananas in the garden are cut on time. See if you can resist knocking on her door when you smell her freshly baked Rasta muffins. Tha Sista brings all the good things of the Caribbean within a hand’s reach. See you at El Zapote!

Bienvenidos a El Zapote, la pequeña oasis Caribeña en el corazón del pueblo de Tulum. Descubran la esencia de la vida rústica y consciente Caribeña en su propia palapa –la palabra Maya para cabaña– rodeada por el jardín verde y tranquilo de El Zapote. Las dos cabañas hospedan 2 personas cada una y se alquilan por día, semana y mes por precios muy razonables. Este alojamiento limpio, privado y único se sitúa a solo 4 cuadras de la estación de autobuses ADO y a 2 cuadras de la calle principal ofreciendo bancos, todo tipo de buenos restaurantes, bares y bases de taxis y colectivos que les llevaran a Playa del Carmen. Tulum es un sitio muy agradable para amantes de la bicicleta y el paseo de 25 minutos en bici que les llevara a las playas blancas y cubiertas de cocoteros de Tulum es muy recomendable. Hay una cosa más que hará su estancia en El Zapote verdaderamente inolvidable: su enigmática anfitriona, una mujer Mexicana a quien llaman La Sista que llegó a las aguas del Caribe Mexicano y Centroamericano hacen 20 años. Ella se asegurará que no le acabe el delicioso incienso y que los plátanos en el jardín estén cortados a tiempo. A ver si puede resistir tocar en su puerta cuando huela sus Rasta muffins recién horneados. La Sista trae todo lo bueno del Caribe a su alcance.
