Vamos a ver, Homelander es un personaje que nunca tuvo un ápice de respeto por el poder que tenía. Así como cualquier megalómano del mundo real cuando se ve arrinconado y sin influencia ni poder.
No nos vayamos muy lejos, como estaba Nicolas Maduro semanas antes de ser capturado 😏 y cual era su actitud después de ser capturado 🤔

Así que no, no es un retroceso. Es la naturaleza del personaje cuando se le acaba el poder del que tanto abusó. Los que se quejan o tenían en un pedestal a Homelander me parece que están reflejando su frustración, vayan al psicólogo en buena onda.

Siempre había creído que la estrella de una película de Batman era... "Batman". Para mí, no se trata de contratar a una gran estrella de taquilla como Tom Cruise para que sea Batman para toda una generación. Se trata más bien de dar vida a Bruce Wayne. Por eso, conceptualmente, el aspecto más importante del casting no es necesariamente el actor, sino el director. ¿Siente el director amor y comprensión por el personaje? ¿Le apasiona? ¿Tiene una visión clara del personaje y crees que puede plasmarla? En definitiva, más allá de la trayectoria, todo se reduce a la confianza.

¿Es deber del estudio ganarse la confianza de los fans cada vez que se produce una película de cómics?

Sí, lo es.

Históricamente, en la industria del cine y la televisión, ha habido traiciones en nombre de los juguetes y las cajitas felices.

Y por eso, el verdadero foco debe estar en el director y su visión. Si depositamos nuestra fe en la pasión, el conocimiento, la comprensión, el talento y la trayectoria de esa persona, entonces debemos sentarnos, discutir, debatir y argumentar como solo nosotros, los fanáticos, sabemos hacerlo con tanta pasión y entrega, y emitir nuestro juicio una vez que veamos el resultado final.

Y todos aquellos que alguna vez odiaron a Michael Keaton y Heath Ledger ANTES de ver sus películas, estarán completamente de acuerdo.

Al final del día, después de más de 85 años, ¿quién es realmente el verdadero Batman/Bruce Wayne? Creo que es, y siempre será, aquel a quien conociste de niño, lector, cinéfilo, aficionado a los dibujos animados o jugador de videojuegos.

Lo más maravilloso de todo esto, para mí, durante los casi 40 años transcurridos desde nuestro Batman de 1989, ha sido escuchar con tanta frecuencia lo mucho que significa para ellos esa película y el Batman de Michael Keaton, porque sus padres, abuelos o madres, ya fallecidos, los llevaron y compartieron con ellos esa importante y trascendental experiencia con Batman. Su verdadero Batman es un personaje y una película congelados en el tiempo, con un significado tan personal que les ha sido profundamente arraigado.

Y en los años venideros, siguiendo los pasos de Lewis Wilson, Robert Lowery, Adam West, Michael Keaton, Kevin Conroy, Val Kilmer, Christian Bale, Ben Affleck, Will Arnett, George Clooney y Robert Pattinson, otro actor se convertirá en Bruce Wayne, quien, a su vez, se convertirá en un verdadero Batman para otra generación de fans.

Siempre habrá un cineasta talentoso con una visión nueva y emocionante que realmente se preocupe por la esencia de Batman. Cuando llegue ese momento, veamos de qué es capaz... y luego, como es deber de todo fan, juzguémoslo sin piedad en ese preciso instante.

I’ve always believed that the star of a Batman movie is... “Batman.” For me, it is not about hiring a big box office draw like making Tom Cruise The Batman for a generation. It is all rather about making Bruce Wayne come to life. Because of that conceptually, the most important aspect of casting is not necessarily the actor, but rather the filmmaker. Does the filmmaker have a love for and understanding of the character? Does he or she have a passion for the character? Does the filmmaker have a vision for the character and do you believe he or she can execute that vision? Ultimately, more than track record, it comes down to trust.

Is it the duty of the studio to have to win the fan’s trust each and every time a comic book movie is produced?

Yes, it is.

Historically, generally in the motion picture and television industry, there have been betrayals in the holy name of toys and happy meals.

And that’s why the real focal point must be on the filmmaker and what his or her vision is. If we have some faith based on that person’s passion, knowledge, understanding, talent, and track record, then we must sit back, discuss, debate, argue as only we fan-boys and geek-girls do so well and with such heart and soul, and make our judgment calls once we see the end result.

And everyone who ever hated Michael Keaton and Heath Ledger BEFORE seeing their films, will heartily agree.

At the end of the day, after more than 85 years, who really is the one correct and true Batman/Bruce Wayne? I believe it is, and always will be, the one you first met as a child or reader or movie-goer, or cartoon watcher, or game-player.

The most wonderful part of all this for me over the last nearly 40 years since our 1989 Batman, has been hearing so often how much that
movie and Michael Keaton’s Batman means to them because their fathers or grandpas or moms who have since passed away took them and shared that important and defining Batman experience with them. Their true Batman is a character and film forever frozen in time and with such personal meaning grafted on to them!

And in the years to come, in the footsteps of Lewis Wilson, Robert Lowery, Adam West, Michael Keaton, Kevin Conroy, Val Kilmer, Christian Bale, Ben Affleck, Will Arnett, George Clooney, and Robert Pattinson, yet another actor will become Bruce Wayne who, in turn, will become a true Batman for yet another generation of fans.

There will always be a gifted filmmaker with an exciting new vision who truly cares about the integrity of The Batman. Whenever that time comes, let’s actually see what she or he can do... and then, as is the duty of every fan, judge the hell out of it at that moment in time.
