Un honor volver a casa. El día de ayer regresé a la UABC, a la Facultad de Ciencias Químicas e Ingeniería, donde estudié Ingeniería en Computación, esta vez como ponente dentro del ciclo “Voces de la Ingeniería en Computación y en Software”.

Presenté MDAP (Mindful Data Audiovisual Project) y compartí mi filosofía de trabajo con los alumnos y la facultad que me formó. Una experiencia que voy a guardar siempre.

Gracias a la Maestra Alma Leticia Palacios Leticia Palacios, a José García Rocha y a Roberto Alejandro Reyes Martínez, director de la facultad por la invitación y abrir este espacio en UABC.

Esta exposición explora cómo la tecnología digital y la IA están transformando irreversiblemente nuestra sociedad. Como escribe el curador Gu Zhenqing: “El rol único del artista en la producción de conocimiento radica en su capacidad privilegiada para la imaginación continua, fundamentada en el razonamiento científico y la experimentación. Es a través de la intuición e imaginación del artista que se puede ir más allá de los principios científicos para percibir y revelar facetas desconocidas, ocultas y caóticas del mundo exterior.”

This exhibition explores how digital technology and AI are irreversibly transforming our society. As curator Gu Zhenqing writes: “The unique role of artists in knowledge production lies in their privileged capacity for continued imagination, grounded in scientific reasoning and experimentation. It is through an artist’s intuition and imagination that one can step beyond scientific principles to perceive and reveal unknown, hidden, and chaotic facets of the external world.”

Decrypt Reality

Art Exhibition at Los Angeles Center for Digital Art November 6–29 Curated by

This speculative design intervention invites us to decrypt ourselves from binary definitions of organic versus inorganic, virtual versus physical. In a near-future where biohacking and biosensors dissolve these boundaries, what is reality but a construct to transcend?

Through bio-digital spirituality, the work envisions Homo Deus—a next-generation humanity creating new realities beyond conventional perception. This virtual art piece questions: as we become symbiotically interconnected with technology, how do we decrypt from limiting notions of “real” to embrace harmonious coexistence across multiple realities we’re actively accessing?

My contribution to this collective project was developing a level in Unreal Engine 5 for Ex Nihilo II by / .interval—an explorable world of hidden secrets set in an alternate Los Angeles realm.

More than a tech demo, MDAP is an invitation to reimagine our relationship with technology as a symbiotic, embodied practice—where your physiological data reveals its inner beauty through art. The experience is FREE and open to all participants during the event!
