Bittersweet Ministries

Our wonderful friends and hosts, Jose and Lupe, need your prayers and encouragement! On Friday morning there was a gas explosion in their restaurant that caused serious damage to their business, their daughter Monica’s cafe, and their home. We are so thankful for God’s protection and that no one was hurt, but they have a lot of rebuilding to do before they can reopen for business. Please keep them in your prayers and send them some encouraging messages!

That’s a wrap on summer trips for 2026! What a fantastic summer! Thank you to all who traveled to Tijuana to join our community in building homes, learning about Mexican culture, leading kids activities, and making friends!

Last night, Charlie and Melisa were baptized, with the sun setting behind them and Whitney Houston singing “I’m every woman” from the speaker of a nearby bar. It was their first time in the ocean. Their baby is coming soon and they wanted to affirm their commitment to Christ. These are the moments we catch a glimpse of the weirdness and wildness of the kingdom of God.

Week 5, summer 2026- a week of hard work and infectious joy with the team from One Church! Congrats to Silvia on her gorgeous new home!

Week 4, summer 2026- Rosie and Sydney came from Michigan to build a lovely new home for Fili and Ana! Toby the pug made sure we did a good job!

Week 3, 2026- a beautiful blue house for Veronica and her family, built with love by the Block family! It was so lovely to watch two families connect and work together this week to create community and a new home.

Summer 2026, week 2 - a new house for Paola and her family! We had such a great time visiting with old friends and making new ones. Thanks to the team from Ohio and Kentucky!
