Hi! We hope everyone had a great summer.
School in Loreto is well underway and The Caring Hearts Project is excited to have entered into our 3rd year of supporting students in need at Benito Juarez Middle School. We provide breakfast/lunch for kids who either come to school without food sent from home, or come without money to buy food from the school cafeteria.
All the money we raise goes directly to the school. The meals are prepared and distributed by the school staff.
We realize how many deserving charities there are in Loreto to choose from, and we thank you, in advance, for considering a donation to the Caring Hearts Project. 💜

The children are so happy to be getting their daily breakfast while attending school. A special thanks goes out to Catherine Winch and her kick butt exercise class and Teresa Clifford and her amazing yogis for donating proceeds from their classes to help support Caring Hearts. We know there a lot of charities to choose from, in our beautiful community, and we appreciate everyone who chooses to help ours!
Our hope is to eventually expand our support to other Loreto schools in the future.

In an effort to raise money for The Caring Hearts Project, we are offering a week stay in our "casita" in the Auga Viva neighborhood of Loreto Bay for $700 usd/14,500 pesos. The full amount will go directly to our charity, which helps feed 20 students, from Benito Juarez Middle School, breakfast/lunch. This amount feeds 20 students for approximately 1 month.
The casita is a large one level unit - 1 bedroom/1 bath/full kitchen/large living room with convenient parking in front. It also includes the use of 2 bikes and a kayak. It's a perfect option for Loreto Bay residents who need "overflow" space for their visiting guests.

The Caring Hearts Project is asking for support from our community to help with 2 of our students from Benito Juarez Middle School.
David has been diagnosed with leukemia and goes to La Paz weekly for his treatments. His transportation expenses are approximately $2000 pesos per trip.
Emily has Hodkins lymphoma and goes to La Paz every 15 days. Her family needs $1000 pesos per trip to pay for gas.
Their medication, food and lodging is covered, but they still need help with their transportation costs.

The students at Benito Juarez Middle School are back in school for the 2024-25 school year. The Caring Hearts Project would like to thank all of our generous donors who made it possible to support the students in need last year. We are, once again, asking for your help in raising money to support 20 students who come to school without money to buy a lunch or without a sack lunch from home. Our goal is to provide a meal for them on the days they attend school. 100% of the money collected goes directly to the school for the sole purpose of feeding these needy children. We are excited to report that the shade we built over the Benito Juarez Middle School outdoor stage/courtyard area has been completed!!
A big thank you goes out to some of the local hardware/supply stores for offering discounts on materials that were needed. An even bigger thank you goes to Travis Kopp (Baja Cart Rentals). Without his knowledge and tools and the use of his shop, this would have been almost impossible!
As always, we are so appreciative to those of you that have recently donated to help provide lunches to our students through the end of this school year. We will continue our fundraising efforts throughout the summer with hopes of getting a jump on next year's needs! Any amount helps!!!
