A Vase Cake (with fresh flowers) for 2 of my friends' joint birthday celebration today 😊

A Volcano and Dinosaurs themed Cake, for my one and only nephew 😊

(The dinosaurs are toys, in case anyone was thinking "That's really impressive fondant work" πŸ˜„)

Swipe for more views!

And of course I put a sparkler candle inside the volcano, for the "volcanic explosion" πŸ€“. The last photo shows it lit up, and if you notice a lollipop stick in the birthday boy's mouth, it's nOt a lollipop stick (as I first thought 🀭), but a bit of spark from the candle. And also if you saw my stories yesterday, you'd know I was trying to get hold of some dry ice (which I wanted to use to create some smoke), but unfortunately couldn't get any πŸ˜ͺ. Still, very happy with how it turned out and loved making it 😊

A "Dhiguhedhun" themed Cake for local tailor .kandoo , which was requested by her daughter 😊

I looked through her page for inspiration and there were a few designs which would "probably" have been easier to do in buttercream πŸ˜„, but I loved this one especially and had to give it a try.

(Swipe for a slightly closer look and to see the actual dress, which was worn by our First Lady 😊)

Joined in on a cake collab ( the ) hosted by .homecakery, and and this is what I made for it 😊
(Check out to see what the others made!)

A little bit about the cake:

*I love fairytale gardens and so went with this door, which in my fairytale, leads to a magical garden. And if you're thinking about how it opens since there's no door handle, it needs no handle and will magically open upon hearing the magic word 😌

*The design on the door is inspired by the beautiful (coral stone) carvings of Maldives (swipe for my inspiration photos taken at Hukuru Miskiy).

*I used fresh bougainvillea and dried camomile flowers for the floral part of the theme.

*Note to self (and other bakers): bougainvillea wilts very quickly (as seen here on this cake πŸ™Š) and is not ideal for decorative use on cakes and other baked goods.

It's a Space Cake! With a Rocket which "made" Real Fire! Swipe to Seee! πŸ˜ƒπŸš€

My customer asked if I could do one like it (using one of those firework candles) and I remembered seeing one by , but her's had had the fire coming down (from a rocket which was going up), which was a problem for me since my cake wouldn't have the "structural height" for it to not be a fire hazard (😱). So I positioned the rocket going in the opposite direction so that the fire would be going up, and while there may be a number of scientific errors in the story happening here on the cake, it still made for a πŸ˜„. And in the words of the birthday boy, "This is the best cake I ever had. It was so cool when the rocket lit up so much”. Which made my day πŸ₯°. In addition to the fact that the rocket didn't fall off or "explode" which were things I was very worried about 🀭

PS. You know I love to share facts/trivia in my captions but this time not going to do that since I'm no "rocket scientist" πŸ˜„, but I thinnnk I know at least 2 things that are wrong here πŸ™Š. Please comment and tell me if you spot them? πŸ˜‰πŸ€“

A Cat Cake in Pink, Black and White

23/09/2020

Got to make a "The Great Wave"- themed cake today, and I was today years old when I found out that "The Great Wave Off Kanagawa" by Hokusai is actually a wood-block print and not a painting πŸ™Š
Anyone else with me? 🀭

And here's some more trivia for you:

* The original print is 25.7 x 37.9 cm.
* It was created around 1830.
* This print forms part of a series called "Thirty-six views of Mount Fuji", and that little mountain in the middle (if you can make it out) is Mount Fuji.
* Mount Fuji is an active volcano.

You're welcome 😁

Also have to say that this might be the hardest cake I have done so far πŸ₯΄

My First Minecraft Cake, made for a little Minecraft fan 😊

Had been dreading making this one a bit because the game is all about "square bits everywhere", and my work is kind of "not very square" (if you know what I mean).
But surprisingly really enjoyed making it πŸ€” and also love how it turned out 😊

PS. 🀭
PPS. β€œNOT OFFICIAL MINECRAFT PRODUCT. NOT APPROVED BY OR ASSOCIATED WITH MOJANG.”
(I checked out the copyrights for Minecraft and I have to write that part as per their Commercial Usage Guidelines πŸ€“)
