Fully here.
No laptop.
No notifications.
Just this.

Most of my clients couldn’t imagine this two years ago.

Now it’s part of how they operate.

If you’re ready to find out how, the link’s in bio.

This climb took an hour. The view lasted all day. The leaders I work with learn to find moments like this — not by working less, but by slow productivity gains.

When you protect your energy, everything changes.

Here is something to think about:

There’s a version of your life where the evenings look like this. Not as a holiday. As the norm. That’s what we build inside the Pinnacle Balance Program — the space, the clarity, and the energy to lead better, to perform better, because you’re living better.

I’ve been meaning to start this for a while. Now it’s landed - Insights, thinking for leaders, is live ✈️

Let’s kick off….

Something many senior leaders feel — and I felt myself before — is the background hum. The low-level tension that never quite switches off. It’s not burnout. Not anxiety. Just a constant, quiet noise. The sense that your working mind is always half-on, even when you’re not at work.
A conversation you need to have.
A decision that isn’t sitting right.
A problem that followed you home and hasn’t left.

And it has a cost. It fragments your thinking. It quietly erodes your presence — at work, at home, in the moments that matter most. You’re there, but not fully. You’re listening, but part of you is still in the office.

Many people carry it quietly.
A few start to wonder if this is simply what success costs.

It doesn’t have to.

My first article on mindfulcoaching.today is about the most underrated performance tool I know: conscious breathing.

Not yoga.
Not meditation.
Takes just two minutes a day.

Stuart Sandeman, James Nestor, James Clear — three very different voices pointing to exactly the same thing.

If any of this resonates, it’s worth a read.

Stop the hum this weekend!

Picked these from the garden this morning in Mallorca! Lemons don’t rush. They take the whole season to get there, and when they do, they’re exactly right.

Also been reading Cal Newport’s Slow Productivity this week — his whole argument is the same. The best work, like the best fruit, comes from rhythm and patience. Not relentless busyness.

Worth a read if you’re managing a lot and wondering why it still doesn’t feel like enough.

Great to be coaching and mentoring in the sun, whilst out on a bike ride! That’s the life! And great coffee too at

2026 is moving quickly — it already feels like it’s travelling at rocket-ship pace. Q1 complete. Financial year closed.

I’ve taken some time this weekend to step back and reflect — and it’s been a strong start to the year.

From a commercial perspective, there’s been good momentum, clear progress, and outcomes that reflect the level of focus applied — especially given how challenging things feel more broadly at the moment.

But what’s stood out most isn’t just the results — it’s how they’ve been achieved.

Over the past few months, I’ve been more deliberate in how I manage my time, energy, and attention.

Creating space to think.
Reducing noise.
Being more intentional about where I put my effort.

I’ve also placed more focus than ever on my physical health and mental fitness — not as something separate, but as a core part of how I perform day to day.

A recent break in Portugal really reinforced that.

Stepping away. Switching off properly. Creating distance from the day-to-day.

Not to escape it — but to return with more energy, clearer thinking, and a better way of operating.

Because, when done properly, creating real balance isn’t a trade-off — it’s what drives results.

It’s something I see a lot in the people I work with too.

Founders, business owners, senior leaders — people who are highly capable but often carrying a lot and running at full capacity.

And over time, that has an impact.

Not always obvious at first, but it shows up in clarity, decision-making, and energy.

That’s where performance starts to slip — not in a dramatic way, but through small amounts of friction that build over time.

The work I do is really about changing that.

Helping people create space, build energy, and operate in a way that allows them to perform at a high level consistently — not just in short bursts.

Because when you think clearly and have the energy to support it, everything else improves.

Going into Q2, my focus is simple — not doing more, but operating better.

If that resonates, feel free to drop me a message.

Brilliant words from
The author behind Atomic Habits.

New routine doesn’t happen without some handy triggers that can make the likelihood of it happing so much easier. The gym/fitness hack is a great example, it’s so easy to reverse the intention to go to the gym when you can find your gym gear!

“If you want to get warm you must stand near the fire: if you want to be wet you must get into the water.
If you want joy, power, peace, eternal life, you must get close to, or even into, the thing that has them.”
- C.S. Lewis

Great to think about going into the weekend.

What are you doing?

Who are you with?

Where is your energy coming from?

Would your authentic self be anywhere different doing anything different?
