Learning goes beyond the classroom.

We were delighted to welcome students from MITD – Fashion Design and Apparel Making to RT Knits for an insightful industrial visit.

The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to our pattern drafting and 3D technologies, highlighting how pattern engineering extends far beyond garment construction. During the session, we shared how pattern drafting also plays a key role in automation template design and precise embellishment positioning.

Students also had the opportunity to tour our factory, where they explored our production capabilities and advanced equipment, gaining a closer look at how innovation and craftsmanship come together in a modern manufacturing environment.

Connecting robotics and automation theory to real industrial impact.
This week, we had the opportunity to deliver a lecture at the University of Technology, Mauritius, focused on Robotics and Automation in Industry 4.0. The objective was simple: bridge the gap between classroom learning and the realities of advanced manufacturing.
At RT Knits, automation, digitalisation, MES integration, and smart systems are not future ambitions — they are active projects shaping our daily operations. From intelligent production monitoring to automated material handling and data-driven decision-making, we shared how Industry 4.0 technologies are applied in a high-performance textile manufacturing environment.
Beyond the technical discussion, the session created space for students to engage directly with professionals already working on these transformation projects. Seeing how robotics, AI, and automation translate into real-world impact helps future engineers understand the scale of opportunity available here in Mauritius.
