The compact site is used efficiently, which shortens daily inspection times. The project is now in operation. Both houses include two rows of Premium+ laying nests (VDL Jansen), eight Chainovation chain feeding circuits for hens, and Matrix male feeding systems from VDL Agrotech (two side lines and one center line). Chainovation, developed with breeding associations, distributes feed at variable speeds up to 3,000 kg/h, giving birds near‑simultaneous access and a calm start. Matrix provides males with more space and comfort, equal portions, and side‑by‑side eating, which reduces stress for males and females. The Premium+ nest has been refined for more than 35 years in close collaboration with breeding companies and offers a quiet, sheltered laying area with exceptionally high nest acceptance. 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 🐥 A newly completed broiler house in the Netherlands is now in operation. Measuring 85 meters in length and 18 meters in width, the house offers an optimized layout that supports highly efficient feeding and drinking systems for the broilers. The house features the VDL Flex Auger Feed Distribution system, ensuring smooth and reliable automatic feed delivery by transporting feed directly from the silo into the hopper of the feeding lines whenever it is needed. The feeding lines are equipped with the Valenta broiler pan system — a proven solution designed for optimal feed accessibility. Five Valenta feeding lines have been installed, including the optional Valenta Flow Slider, which ensures a fresh feed overflow upon the arrival of Day-Old Chicks (DOC). The pan’s low ridge allows chicks to access feed from day one, while its open design prevents them from getting trapped. The drinking lines are strategically positioned to ensure even water distribution. Each of the six lines can be flushed for hygiene purposes, and all are equipped with automatic winches for easy height adjustment — guaranteeing clean and accessible water at every stage of growth.
