Occupational Noise Risk Assessment
Noise is recognized by WHO as the second most harmful environmental stressor behind air pollution, causing permanent hearing damage, tinnitus, and stress-related illnesses. Under the Noise at Works Regulations 2012, employers are legally required to manage noise risks, and this requirement is qualified by the term "suitable and sufficient," which will be determined by the Court.
WHY FOLLOW THIS COURSE:
> Mandatory requirement (Noise at Work regulations 2012)
> Preventing long-term hearing damage
> Promoting well-being and enhance Productivity
> To avoid regulatory fines and civil compensation which can result from failure to manage noise.
WHO SHOULD FOLLOW THIS COURSE
> Engineers,
> Building Facilities Manager,
> HS Managers and Officers,
> Consultants, Planners, Enforcement Officers, etc
who work in high noise levels (e.g., manufacturing, construction, road repair, woodworking, plastics processing, waste management)
JUSTIFICATION FOR THIS PARTICULAR COURSE
This course is about assessing noise levels, evaluation of noise risks, existing noise control measures and further control measures. Unfortunately, the law places too much responsibility on the shoulders of Health and Safety Officers with no specific responsibilities on the engineers and technicians who are those who can contribute enormously to mitigating noise impacts. The result is that there has been limited progress achieved so far and many noise problems are not tackled effectively.
