Today we remember September 11 — a day that shook humanity and reminded us of the sacred value of every life.
Let this remembrance call us to stand against all forms of violence, extremism, and injustice.
May we honor the victims by defending peace, justice, and human dignity everywhere.

✒️ Upholding Human Dignity
Recent online attacks against a Woman Police Constable are unacceptable and violate fundamental human rights.

As affirmed by the National Human Rights Commission, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the UN Human Rights Policing Manual, every officer is entitled to dignity, respect, and protection against humiliation.

Freedom of expression must never cross into harassment. Legitimate concerns should be raised through proper channels, not through public shaming.

🌍✨ International Humanitarian Day Message ✨🌍

On this International Humanitarian Day, the team members of Yeshua Fellowship, Youth for Human Rights, United for Human Rights, Citizens Commission on Human Rights, The Foundation for a Drug‑Free World, and The Way to Happiness join together to extend heartfelt wishes of peace, dignity, and compassion to all.

This day reminds us of our shared responsibility to uphold the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), which proclaims:
📜 “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.” – UDHR, Article 1

It also calls us to live out the truth of Scripture:
📖 “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” – Galatians 6:2

And it echoes the legacy of the civil rights movement, which taught the world that justice, equality, and freedom must be defended for every person, regardless of race, creed, or background.

Together, we reaffirm our commitment to:

Empowering youth with knowledge of their rights

Promoting a drug‑free and healthy society

Defending civil liberties and human dignity

Inspiring communities to walk in compassion and responsibility

🙏 May this day strengthen our resolve to serve humanity with love, courage, and unity.

On 5 May 2026, senior police officers in the Southern Region made a strong commitment to strengthen dignity, equality, and accountability in policing through human rights education.

That commitment was fulfilled on 14 August 2026, when the first batch of officers participated in the Human Rights Crash Course for Law Enforcement Officers, based on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR).

👮‍♂️ The training included case discussions and scenario exercises addressing real challenges where human rights concerns had arisen. Officers also explored how teamwork and collaboration can drive positive change at different levels of policing.

✨ Key Outcome: The officers have now requested that this training be extended to all officers and institutionalized quarterly each year, ensuring that human rights principles remain at the heart of policing in Mauritius.

On August 22, 2026, Mr. Manishwar Sharma Purmanund, Managing Director of United for Human Rights Mauritius, together with Ms. Sweeta (Sweta) Purmanund, attended the First Anniversary of the Hakka Friendship Association, held at the Town Hall, Municipality of Quatre‑Bornes, under the theme “Be a Chinese for a Day.”

This cultural celebration highlighted the richness of Chinese heritage and the importance of unity in diversity. It was also a meaningful occasion to reaffirm the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), reminding us that:
📜 “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.” – UDHR, Article 1
