What happens after an AI workshop is over?

For me, that is the important part. People can enjoy a session and still return to doing everything exactly as before.
We delivered four workshops for AP Valletta, focusing on AI tools and prompting, with exercises tailored to their work.

This part of their feedback says a lot:
“The workshops ... have ignited an ongoing internal discussion and use of the technology that continues well beyond the sessions themselves.” Tom Van Malderen, Director of Management, AP Valletta Ltd.

Thank you, Tom and the team. It is good to know that the discussion continued after we left.

AI failure is rarely a technology failure. More often, it is a leadership failure.

The warning signs are already familiar: pilots that never scale, vendors that go unchallenged, governance that arrives too late, skills gaps that widen, and people treated as an afterthought.

The organisations that succeed with AI will not necessarily be those with the most sophisticated technology.
They will be those whose leaders make better decisions.

On 16 October, I’ll be speaking at Leading Through AI Disruption about a question every leadership team should be asking:

How will leaders stay relevant in an AI-driven economy?

We’ll look beyond the hype and focus on the decisions that matter: where to invest, what to govern, how to assess risk, how work and roles will change, and how to build an organisation that can turn AI experiments into real value.

Because saying “we have an AI strategy” is easy.

Building the leadership, governance and workforce capabilities to make it work is much harder.

And perhaps the most dangerous assumption of all is:

“We have time.”

We started working with this company in January 2026. Here is where they are now.

Nine months ago, this professional services firm came to Digital Brain with a clear problem: too much of their senior team's time was going into tasks that did not require senior-level judgement. Reporting, formatting, chasing information, summarising meetings.

We ran a two-week audit, identified four processes for automation, and built a 90-day roadmap. The client owned the decision at every stage.

Nine months on: three of the four automations are live and running without active management. The fourth was scaled back after the pilot showed it would not deliver sufficient value (an honest result that saved the client time and money).

Senior team capacity recovered: approximately 22 hours per month.
New client projects taken on using that capacity: three.
Estimated revenue generated from those projects: material and growing.

This is what a successful AI engagement looks like at nine months. Not a transformation. A specific, measurable improvement that compounds over time.

What would a 22-hour monthly capacity gain mean for your senior team? Reply honestly.

The 3 metrics that actually tell you whether your AI implementation is working.

Most organisations measure the wrong things after an AI implementation. They count how many people have access to the tool, how many queries it has processed, and how often the team logs in. These are activity metrics. They do not tell you whether the business is better.

Here are the three metrics that matter.

First: time recovered per week, per person, on the specific tasks that were automated. This is the foundational measure. If time is not being saved on the targeted tasks, the implementation has not worked, regardless of what else is happening.

Second: decision quality or speed on the decisions the AI was meant to support. If the AI generates reports or surfaces insights, are decisions being made faster, with more confidence, or with better outcomes? This is harder to measure but more meaningful than usage statistics.

Third: team sentiment toward the tool at 30, 60, and 90 days. An AI tool that the team resents or works around has failed, even if it technically functions. Adoption is the product.

Measure these three. Measure nothing else until they are consistently positive.

What metrics does your organisation use to evaluate AI tools? Reply and let's compare notes.

The real challenge with AI isn’t adoption. It’s keeping transformation human. 🤖🤝

At HR GIG 11, I’ll be leading Workshop 4: Human-Centred Transformation – Balancing AI, Efficiency & Empathy.

We’ll look at how leaders can use AI to improve efficiency and organisational performance without sacrificing empathy, trust, or the human experience.

Successful transformation isn't just about better technology. It is about making sure people, culture, customer experience and technology evolve together.

Looking forward to sharing ideas and practical perspectives with fellow speakers and participants.

Q4 2026 AI implementation slots are now filling. This is your last comfortable window to start.

We say comfortable because the alternative is starting in November, which means your implementation runs through the holiday season, your team is distracted, and the results do not show until February.

October start is the last window that gives you a clean 90-day runway into year-end. Audit in October. Pilot in November. Results visible in December. A 2027 roadmap built on real evidence rather than optimism.

Digital Brain has a small number of October slots remaining. Our process is straightforward: a 30-minute discovery call, a proposal within five working days, and an audit kickoff within two weeks of contract signature.

If AI is on your agenda for this year and you have not started the conversation yet, this post is the sign you need.

Message "Q4 SLOT" directly or comment below, and we will reach out.

Malta has a once-in-a-generation opportunity to become the Mediterranean's AI services hub. We are not moving fast enough.

The structural conditions are favourable.
English as a primary business language.
EU membership with access to European funding.
A timezone that bridges the UK, Europe, and the Middle East.
A high density of financial services, gaming, and healthcare organisations that are natural early adopters of AI capability.

And yet, when you map the organisations across the Mediterranean that are actively building and exporting AI services, Malta is not yet prominently on that map.

This is not permanent. It is a window. Other jurisdictions are moving fast to position themselves as the AI services location of choice for global organisations wanting a European base.

Malta has everything it needs to compete at that level. What it needs now is visible, credible, and consistent leadership on AI from businesses, institutions, and the government. Digital Brain intends to be part of that story. We are looking for the organisations that want to build it with us.

What do you think Malta needs to do to claim a genuine position in the European AI landscape?

The AI tool you bought six months ago is being used by two people. Here's why.

Technology adoption follows a predictable curve inside organisations. The early enthusiasts adopt immediately. A second wave follows if the tool proves genuinely useful. The majority waits to see whether it lasts.

Most AI tool deployments stall at the first wave. The platform is purchased, access is granted, a demo is run, and then the tool sits quietly while most of the team continues working as they always have.

This is not laziness. It is the absence of three things: a clear use case for each role, a regular cadence of practice to build habit, and visible leadership endorsement (not just words, but leaders using the tool themselves).

The organisations that achieve broad AI adoption are those that treat it as a behaviour-change programme rather than a technology installation. Tools do not drive adoption. Habits do. Habits are built through repetition, support, and social proof from people whose opinion matters.

If your AI tools are underused, the answer is not a better tool. It is a better adoption strategy.

Is this pattern familiar in your organisation? What did you do about it? Reply below.

We measured the time savings from an AI implementation at a financial services firm. The number surprised even us.

The brief was straightforward. A financial services firm in Malta wanted to reduce the time its compliance team spent on documentation (generating, reviewing, and formatting regulatory documents).

We implemented an AI document intelligence layer that could generate first drafts from structured inputs, flag inconsistencies against a compliance checklist, and produce formatted outputs ready for review.

Before implementation, each regulatory document took an average of 4.2 hours from brief to finalised draft. After implementation, measured over eight weeks, the average dropped to 47 minutes, including review time.

That is an 81% reduction. Across 25 to 30 documents per month, the team recovered over 80 hours of compliance capacity.

The system has been running for five months. The time savings have held. The team is now using that recovered capacity to take on projects they previously had to decline.

What would your team do with 80 extra hours per month? Seriously, reply below.
