Europe Direct Gozo
One of the most effective means to reach to grassroots and engage in dialogue with citizens is the network of EUROPE DIRECTs.
The Europe Direct network is one of the main channels of information about the EU for European citizens with the overall objective of providing citizens with easy access to information about the EU and its activities. EUROPE DIRECT Gozo in collaboration with the CORE Platform, Caritas Gozo, the Jesuit Refugee Service (Malta), the Gozo Business Chamber, and Bank of Valletta organised a seminar and dialogue session, entitled “Managing Workforce Diversity”.
As Gozo’s labour market continues to evolve, employers and businesses are increasingly encountering new realities related to workforce diversity, communication, and workplace dynamics. This seminar provided practical insights and created constructive dialogue around these realities, while bringing together employers, organisations, and representatives from different communities within the same discussion.
The proceedings of the event were all held in English.
EUROPE DIRECT Gozo strongly believes in the importance of creating discussions amongst employers, employees and other emerging realities which are affecting the labour market, exchange experiences, and better understand the evolving needs of today’s workplaces.

On 9 May, EUROPE DIRECT Gozo organised Europe Day Gozo 2026 at Villa Rundle Gardens, Victoria, as part of the Spring Fair organised by the Ministry for Gozo and Planning.
Throughout the day, visitors had the opportunity to engage with EU information and service providers, learn more about the European Union, and discover initiatives related to education, the environment, youth participation, and European opportunities.
We were also pleased to welcome Dr Lydia Abela, who was accompanied by Hon. Clint Camilleri, Minister for Gozo and Planning. During their visit, they toured the stands and met with participating organisations.
A sincere thank you to all participating entities and visitors who helped make this year’s Europe Day a successful and engaging public event. 🇪🇺✨

🇪🇺 Europe Day | 9 May 🇪🇺
Each year, Europe Day marks the anniversary of the Schuman Declaration, presented on 9 May 1950 by French Foreign Minister Robert Schuman. 📜✨
In the aftermath of the Second World War, Schuman, together with Jean Monnet, proposed that European countries should pool coal and steel production. ⚙️🤝 This practical step was intended to make future conflict between European nations not only unthinkable, but materially impossible. 🕊️
This idea led to the creation of the European Coal and Steel Community in 1951, bringing together Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. 🌍 It became the first supranational organisation in Europe and laid the foundations for what would eventually become the European Union. 🇪🇺
From this first act of cooperation grew a wider project based on peace, unity, solidarity and shared democratic values. 🕊️🤝⭐ Today, the European Union brings together 27 Member States and represents over 450 million citizens.
On 9 May, we celebrate the beginning of an idea that helped transform Europe - from division to cooperation, and from conflict to a shared future. 🌟
🇪🇺 Happy Europe Day! 🎉
