π¬π Introducing the groundbreaking epigenetic inflammation test by Muhdo Health! π‘οΈπ¬
Our test is the only commercially available epigenetic test that calculates your overall inflammation score by analyzing both pro and anti-inflammatory responses. This score gives you valuable insights into your current inflammation levels and helps measure the extent of inflammation in your body.
Inflammation can be a double-edged sword: while it aids in tissue repair and recovery, excessive inflammation can lead to tissue degeneration and increase the risk of illness and disease.
Watch out for these symptoms associated with higher inflammation levels:
πͺπ₯ Sore and aching muscles and joints
π₯ποΈββοΈ Delayed onset muscle soreness after exercise (DOMS)Prone to injuries during exercise
π‘οΈπ΄ Inflamed skin
π¦π£ Fluid retention and swollen fingers & ankles, especially after exercise
π· Fever, fatigue, and a general feeling of being unwell and gut health issues
Take control of your health and discover your inflammation levels with Muhdo Health's epigenetic inflammation test! πͺπ±

π£ Did you know that your biological age may be a better indicator of your lifespan than your birthdate? Researchers from the University of California-San Diego have found that accelerated bodily aging, known as epigenetic age acceleration, is linked to a lower chance of living to age 90 with physical and mental function intact.
This discovery suggests that measuring epigenetic age acceleration could become a biomarker for healthy longevity, helping estimate functional and cognitive aging. Rather than relying solely on chronological age, which is based on your birthday, epigenetic age measures the biological age of your cells and organ systems.
Epigenetic age acceleration has been associated with a higher risk of cancer, cardiovascular disease, Parkinson's, and other ailments. But the good news is that lifestyle changes can impact epigenetic age. Through their research, Muhdo Health has identified key diet and lifestyle markers that can slow down the aging process.
Epigenetics, the study of gene expression influenced by genetics, nutrition, and environment, shows how factors like diet, micronutrients, exercise, and sleep can affect our genes. Chemical markers called methyl groups attach to our DNA, impacting gene function as we age. By understanding how our genes are functioning and tracking our biological age, we can see how our lifestyle choices affect our rate of aging.
The gap between life expectancy and health expectancy is growing, with more people living longer but not necessarily healthier. By monitoring our biological age, we can gain insight into how our diet, lifestyle, and environment are influencing our aging process. Let's take control of our health and age gracefully! π±πͺ

Born Equal: Can genetics make the perfect athlete?
The Nature vs Nurture debate has bounced around for years and as to whether your genetics is the major factor behind creating the perfect athlete.
For instance, all of us would agree that Usain Bolt is 1 in a billion, with regards to physiological traits and genetic gifts for sprinting. Mother nature had indeed been extremely kind when dishing out the βSprinter genesβ
But if Usain had stayed at home and carried on to just play cricket, and not been all that fussed about running on a track and dedicating himself day after day, week after week for years then he would never have achieved his genetic potential for speed.
This analogy resonates with most and helps to explain the nature v nurture debate and or argument of late. There is also a great saying of βHard work beats talent, when talent doesnβt work hardβ
So, creating the perfect, or a world class athlete is basically a biological soup of the right genetics and environment with possibly a sprinkling of good fortune and timing.
But what specific genetic traits does an athlete need to thrive?
Currently in preprint, we have the is largest cohort of athletes genotyped, and sports analysed with Alasdair Heasman and Muhdo Health >> https://lnkd.in/eQe-cgK6
