Today, on World Hypertension Day, we are reminded that high blood pressure is often called the “silent killer” for a reason: it frequently shows no symptoms while significantly increasing the risk of heart disease, stroke, and kidney complications.

The good thing is that hypertension is largely preventable and manageable. Small, consistent lifestyle choices can make a meaningful difference:

• Check your blood pressure regularly
• Reduce salt and processed foods
• Stay physically active
• Maintain a healthy weight
• Limit alcohol and avoid smoking
• Manage stress and, if applicable, follow prescribed medication
