The Malta Police Union is a registered trade union dedicated to promote the wellbeing of police officers and enhance their working conditions.
It is open to all police officers and employees of the Malta Police Force. The Union believes that generally all contested issues are to be resolved around a table. This method has yielded various gains its members. However, when the situation requires otherwise, the MPU won’t hold back to take the necessary measure be it legal or administrative. The Malta Police Union welcomes the positive outcome achieved through discussions with the Ministry for Home Affairs, Security and Employment and the Industrial Relations Unit.
Reserve Police Constables carrying out official policing duties will now receive the Long Service Bonus in full. This development represents an important step towards recognising the commitment, dedication and service of Reserve members within the Malta Police Force.
The Union remains committed to continuing its work to ensure fair treatment and improved conditions for all its members.

Today, we laid a wreath in memory of PC Mark Farrugia, who lost his life in the line of duty. His dedication and service to our community will never be forgotten.

During today’s security-related Cabinet meeting, the Malta Police Union was represented by Colton Grech Darmanin.
The Union expressed its appreciation to Hon. Byron Camilleri for his continued availability to meet, listen, and consult with the union on matters concerning police officers.
The Union also took this opportunity to highlight the importance of officers being covered by health insurance and benefiting from priority access to public healthcare, in recognition of the risks and responsibilities associated with policing.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of former Police Constable 1478 Julian Grima.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
His loss will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
