🇮🇹 TrustAI in Turin: Shaping the Next Phase of AI in Education
What happens when educators, researchers, and innovators from across Europe come together to shape the future of AI in higher education?
This week, MECB is proud to have been part of the Trust AI transnational project meeting in Turin, hosted by the Università degli Studi di Torino. Over two days, partners worked closely to move the project forward, with a strong focus on both progress and practical impact.
Key discussions included:
✔ Advancing the project’s Digital Training Incubator, to support lecturers in the humanities in using AI responsibly
✔ Planning the project’s next phase that includes piloting activities, impact assessment, and sustainability strategies
✔ Aligning on quality assurance, dissemination, and the roadmap for the coming months
🗺️ Alongside the working sessions, such meetings also offer the project’s consortium some space for cultural exchange and collaboration; an essential ingredient to strengthening and fostering cohesive European partnerships 🇪🇺.
This phase marks an important step in ensuring that Trust AI project delivers practical, meaningful tools for educators navigating the evolving role of AI in teaching and learning. At MECB, we are committed to contributing to solutions that place ethics, creativity, and human-centred learning at the core of AI adoption.

📢 Trust AI Project Update:
Yesterday MECB joined our European partners for an online coordination meeting within the Trust AI Erasmus+ project.
📘 The session focused on the continued development of the project's training incubator for higher education lecturers in humanitarian fields. Partners worked through several technical aspects of the incubator’s development, including:
✔ Reviewing the current training content and finalising remaining topics
✔ Coordinating the peer-review process to refine the learning materials
✔ Preparing translations of interactive activities so the training can be used across partner languages
✔ Moving forward with the project’s case studies, which are now ready for translation
💻 Partners also explored the current version of the training incubator platform, sharing suggestions to improve the learning experience for educators who will use the resources.
🇮🇹 ✈️ The meeting concluded with preparations for the upcoming transnational project meeting in Turin this April, where partners will continue advancing the project together.
Step by step, these collaborative meetings help ensure that the TrustAI resources being developed are practical, accessible, and relevant for educators across Europe. 🇪🇺

The second Trust AI project newsletter is out, and offers an insightful look into the development of the project's Training Incubator for higher education lecturers in humanitarian fields.
🤖 Artificial Intelligence is no longer a distant topic for academic debate. It is increasingly present in lecture halls, research practices, and assessment methods. The focus of this issue is not on hype or alarm, but on helping educators approach AI in a thoughtful, structured, and responsible way.
At the centre of the newsletter is the overview of the 15 micro-learning topics currently being developed within Work Package 3. These span three key areas:
1. ⚖️ Ethical and legal foundations of AI in education, including fairness, transparency, data protection, and academic integrity;
2. 🧩 Practical applications, such as AI-supported research, personalised learning, and accessibility tools;
3. 🧠 Critical evaluation and creative integration, encouraging educators to assess AI-generated content carefully and explore innovative uses in the humanities.
A particularly interesting element is the development of short case studies that translate ethical questions and common misconceptions into relatable teaching scenarios. These are designed to help lecturers reflect on responsible AI use in realistic contexts within lecturing rooms 🎓.
A PDF Version of the newsletter is also available at: https://trustai.unibit.bg/newsletters
MECB is proud to contribute to a project that stands out in its balanced perspective: acknowledging the transformative potential of AI, while keeping human judgement, critical thinking, and pedagogical integrity firmly at the centre.
The training materials will soon be made available online, and we look forward to sharing more as the incubator takes shape.
