On Day 2 of the Saipan International Fishing Tournament
Organized by Marianas Visitors Authority & Saipan Fishing Association

📍 Location: Smiling Cove
🗓️ Date: Sunday, July 13th
🕒 Registration: 3:00 PM
🏆 Contest Starts: 4:00 PM

Categories & Cash Prizes:

Adults (16 years & up)

Fishing as a Family – Session 3! Our first cohort is now halfway through the program. This week, after casting their nets and catching fish, families learned how to prepare traditional kelaguen together. Sharing skills, stories, and meals—one cast at a time.

Talaya Club, in partnership with Micronesia Climate Change Alliance (MCCA), is launching the Fishing as a Family PROGRAM—a hands-on program that teaches traditional talaya casting, promotes sustainability and food security, and strengthens cultural connections in the CNMI.
✅ Who can join? 10 families (2-4 members per family, with at least one youth aged 10+)

📅 When? Six 5-hour clinics starting March 22, 2025

📍 Where? Locations will vary based on the lesson plan of the week and may include:
Micro Beach
Obyan Beach
Laolao Beach
Paupau Beach
Kilili Beach

🎁 Bonus: Families who complete the full six-week program will receive a talaya!
