If you have been affected by the fires in South Georgia, especially in Echols County near Will Rewis and Chauncey Rd where 120 homes have burned, I want to hear from you so we can coordinate relief. I am heading in to report for Newsmax and I have neighbors ready to donate, along with opportunities to connect through nonprofits. If you would like to message me, we can talk through both short and long term recovery assistance. There is a lot of support coming together on the ground and I want to make sure I am going in with a helping hand.

Another tornado outbreak is setting up from Thursday evening through the weekend. 3 California tornadoes were confirmed by National Weather Service Wednesday. This is usually a sign that it's going to be a strong storm system. Stay safe and track radar if you're in the storms.

If you're driving and get alerts, I suggest pulling over and checking the radar loop to make sure you don't end up inside of the wrong part of the storm. It is very dangerous to be in a vehicle while a tornado is passing. Google and Apple will notify if you have a route put in that is crossing paths with weather warnings, but you have to be using the navigation.

🌀 Violent Typhoon Sinlaku Passing Saipan: Flood Threat Continues for Guam and Northern Mariana Islands

Violent Super Typhoon Sinlaku is moving through the Northern Mariana Islands, passing very near Saipan and surrounding islands with extreme winds, destructive rainbands, and life threatening flooding already impacting the region.

On Saipan and nearby islands, reports include widespread power outages, damaged structures, downed trees, blocked roads, and dangerous flash flooding. Coastal areas are also dealing with storm surge and rough surf pushing water inland, especially in low-lying communities.

Guam is not expected to take a direct landfall, but outer rainbands are still bringing heavy downpours, localized flooding, and hazardous travel conditions across parts of the island.

Early damage reports from Saipan indicate significant structural impacts and widespread infrastructure disruptions as the strongest core of the storm moves through the area.

Residents across the Marianas should remain sheltered, avoid flooded roads, and treat all water-covered areas as dangerous.

Stay tuned to local emergency management updates for the latest track, impacts, and recovery information.

🌪️ Multiple Tornadoes Spotted Monday Night

A tornado moved directly over United Cajun Navy Weather partner Reed Timmer and a home near Truman, Minnesota around 7 pm Central on Monday, April 13th, 2026. Storm chaser Scott Peak captured another angle from farther away, showing a strong funnel with trees bending in front of his vehicle. The tornado caused damage to a barn and rolled an unoccupied trailer at a nearby farm. Thankfully, no injuries or fatalities have been reported as of 10 pm Monday night.

Additional tornado reports continue to come in across the region tonight

In Iowa, tornadoes were reported near Webb in Clay County and near Emmetsburg in Palo Alto County, with multiple visual confirmations from social media

In Minnesota, a tornado was seen on video near Elmore in Faribault County

Kansas has seen several tornado reports, including near Pomona in Franklin County, near Spring Hill in Miami County, near Blue Mound, and just south of Pleasanton in Linn County. Damage has been reported in Ottawa, Kansas including buildings with roof and wall damage, businesses impacted, trees down, and power outages

In Missouri, a funnel cloud was reported near Amoret in Bates County, nearly reaching the ground

Around 12000 customers are without power across Kansas tonight due to damaging thunderstorms

Our livestream and social media updates continue to highlight an ongoing severe weather risk through the week. We are working to monitor the forecast closely and will bring you updates regularly

Be sure to have multiple ways to receive alerts. Use a reliable weather app that tracks your location, such as the United Cajun Navy Weather app, so you know when to take cover or track storms approaching your area. Do not rely on outdoor warning sirens alone

Typhoon Sinlaku increases to 285 kph / 177 mph

Latest video update using Zoom Earth shows the forecast track as of 6:30 AM Monday, April 13, with Sinlaku now a powerful super typhoon. ECMWF forecast is similar. I'll have a personal forecast video posted asap.

Guam and the Mariana Islands are in a zone to watch closely. Islands in between should already be preparing and staying alert for any forecast shifts. Even a small track change can mean big differences in wind, rain, and surge.

Wind speeds drop off away from the center, but impacts extend well outward. Gusty squalls and heavy rain bands will still create dangerous conditions. Areas on wind-facing slopes and higher terrain will likely see stronger winds and more intense rainfall due to upslope flow.

Storm surge and flooding are major concerns. Onshore winds can push ocean water inland while heavy rain tries to drain out. When both happen together, water has nowhere to go and can rise quickly in low-lying areas, leading to serious flooding.

Preparation should already be underway. Know evacuation routes and shelter locations ahead of time. Use multiple ways to receive alerts, not just sirens. Check road conditions and closures through local sources before travel becomes unsafe. Follow updates from Guam Homeland Security Office of Civil Defense, CNMI Homeland Security and Emergency Management, and the National Weather Service Guam office.

Recent Pacific systems show how serious these setups can become. Cyclone Vaianu brought major flooding in Fiji and over 220 mm of rain with strong winds into New Zealand. Cyclone Maila caused deadly landslides and widespread damage in parts of Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands.

More updates and video forecasts are available on my Weather Woman page.

Typhoon Sinlaku Safety Info Guam and the Mariana Islands

Typhoon Sinlaku is tracking through the western Pacific with increasing concern for Guam and across the Mariana Islands. Islands between Guam and the rest of the Marianas should be on high alert now and closely monitor forecast updates as conditions can change quickly in this region.

Satellite imagery in this post is from Zoom Earth, one of many useful apps to track storms in near real time and view forecast paths.

Winds in a typhoon drop off quickly as you move away from the center, but do not let that create a false sense of safety. The strongest winds are near the core, however damaging gusts and heavy rain can extend far outward. Terrain plays a big role here. Slopes and higher elevations facing into the wind will see stronger winds and heavier showers as the storm forces air upslope.

Storm surge and flooding remain some of the biggest threats. When strong winds push ocean water toward shore while heavy rain is also trying to drain out to sea, water can back up quickly. If both happen at once, flooding can become extreme and in worst cases reach rooftops in vulnerable coastal or low lying areas.

A direct hit from a super typhoon can be devastating. In 2018, Typhoon Yutu struck the Northern Mariana Islands causing catastrophic damage, destroying homes, cutting power, and leaving entire communities without basic services for weeks. That is why preparation ahead of time is critical.

Now is the time to know your evacuation routes and nearby shelters, have multiple ways to receive alerts not just sirens, secure loose outdoor items and prepare emergency supplies, check road conditions and closures through local government and emergency management pages, follow official updates from Guam Homeland Security Office of Civil Defense and CNMI Homeland Security and Emergency Management, and monitor forecasts from National Weather Service Guam office.

Search for local resources like Guam road conditions, Mariana Islands shelters, and emergency alerts Guam to stay ahead of rapidly changing conditions.

Do not wait. Preparation now can save lives.
