Sprinkler systems are not just about placing heads on the ceiling.
Spacing and coverage decide how effective the system is.
A common assumption is:
"Just follow a fixed distance and install."
But in reality, it's not that simple.
Basic idea:
Each sprinkler is designed to cover a specific area.
Typical practice (standard conditions):
Around 12-15 m² per sprinkler
Spacing depends on hazard classification
Distance from wall is also limited
But on site, spacing changes due to:
Ceiling height
Obstructions like beams or ducts
Type of hazard (light / ordinary / high)
One thing I've seen:
Sprinkler type (pendent, upright, sidewall)
Wrong spacing
poor coverage
ineffective fire
control
* More sprinklers doesn't mean better protection
* Proper layout does
Always remember:
Design is not about placing heads.
It's about ensuring coverage where it matters.
