📖 Reading at Age 4: More Than Just Learning Words
Many parents are surprised when they hear that some children can begin reading as early as age 4. The truth is that reading is not simply about memorizing letters or words - it is the result of many important developmental skills coming together.
📍Before a child learns to read, they first develop:
- Emotional security and confidence 😊
- Listening and speaking skills 👂
- Alphabet recognition 🔠
- Letter-sound awareness (phonics) 📣
- Sight word recognition
- Blending sounds into simple words
🏫 At AIM, we believe that every child develops at their own pace. Rather than rushing children, we focus on building strong foundations through play, conversation, phonics, stories, and hands-on learning experiences.
When children feel happy, confident, and supported, reading becomes a natural and enjoyable journey rather than a stressful task. 🤗
Every child can learn to read. The key is not pressure - it is readiness, consistency, and a love for learning. ❤️
