Sagaing is another of Myanmar’s ancient capitals, famous for its many hundreds of white, silver and gold pagodas and monasteries that dot its hilly landscape. The best place to take in the views is from Sagaing Hill .If you have the time, you could easily spend an entire day exploring the pagodas, temples and caves that surround it. On the hill is the most famous shrine in the area, the Soon U Ponya Shin Pagoda, originally built in 1312.

Mt. Popa is an extinct volcano that is estimated to have erupted for the final time, over three hundred and twenty thousand years ago. However, popa’s attraction today lies not so much in its geological aspect, but more in its religious and mystical interests which are still prevalent. Popa is popularly recognized as an abode of many "Nats".

Goat Hteik is a trading town in northern Shan State, and it is accessible by road and rail from Mandalay. The town is famous as the site of the world's second highest railway bridge, which is 2260 feet long. At nearby Lashio, the famous Myanmar road built by the British before World War 2 intersects with the Ledo Road leading into the Yunnan Province of China.

Kachin State is the northernmost state of Myanmar. It is bordered by China to the north and east; Shan State to the south; and Sagaing Division and India to the west. It lies between north latitude 23° 27' and 28° 25' longitude 96° 0' and 98° 44' . The area of Kachin State is 34,379 sq. miles. The capital of the state is Myitkyina. Other important towns include Bhamo.

Kachin State has Myanmar’s highest mountain, Hkakabo Razi, at 5889 meters in height, forming the southern tip of the Himalayas, and Myanmar’s largest lake, Indawgyi Lake. Hkakabo Razi is Southeast Asia's highest mountain, located in the northern Myanmar state of Kachin. The peak is enclosed within Hkakabo Razi National Park. It is entirely mountainous and is characterized by broad-leaved evergreen rain forest, a sub-tropical temperate zone from 8,000 ft. to 9,000 ft. Indawgyi Lake is the largest inland lake in Southeast Asia. It is located in Mohnyin Township in the Kachin State of Myanmar. The lake measures 8 miles east to west, and 15 miles north to south. There are over 20 villages around the lake. The predominant ethnic groups living in the surroundings of the lake are the Shan and the Kachin, who mainly practise agriculture.

Chin State is located at the western part of Myanmar bordering with India. Mountainous region, which hills are higher and slop more the Shan hills.
Chin is one of the National races of Myanmar. Chin has several minorities and differs as Northern Chin and Southern Chin.
Besides mountaineering this is the best place for hiking to nearby villages to see the village life and bird watching.
