Taunggyi Tazaungdaing Festival (Taunggyi Hot Air Ballon Festival) - A Celebration in the Skies of Shan State ✨

🌕The Taunggyi Tazaungdaing Festival, one of Myanmar’s most spectacular transitional events, has now successfully concluded for this year 2025!

🌕Held annually in Taunggyi, Shan State, this vibrant festival takes place during the Tazaungdaing Festival of Lights, usually in November, concluding with the Full moon of Tazaungmone on the Myanmar Lunar calendar.

🌕During the festival, beautifully crafted hot air balloons made of paper are released into the night sky. Many decorated with candles, fireworks, and transitional designs. It’s a stunning showcase of Myanmar’s craftsmanship, culture, and community spirit.

See you again next November in Taunggyi, where the night sky lights up with the colors of culture and joy!

🇲🇲✨ Thadingyut Festival - Myanmar’s beautiful Festival of Lights, marking the end of Buddhist Lent and the Buddha’s descent from heaven. People light candles, pay respect to parents and elders, and celebrate with gratitude and joy. 🌕🙏

A warm welcoming October month from Myanmar🇲🇲

📍Myanmar is situated in Southeast Asia and is bordered on the north and north-east by China, on the east and south-east by Laos and Thailand, on the south by the Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal and on the west by Bangladesh and India.

Today marks the 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐚𝐰 𝐎𝐨 𝐏𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐝𝐚 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥, one of Myanmar’s most significant religious and cultural events. The festival, which 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟭𝟮𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝘆, is held annually on 𝗜𝗻𝗹𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 and is renowned for its royal barge procession, traditional boat races, and vibrant local traditions.

We warmly welcome all visitors to experience the unique heritage of the Intha people and the sacred atmosphere of this special occasion.

📍The festival takes place on 𝗜𝗻𝗹𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝗸𝗲, the second-largest lake in Myanmar, 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲(approximately 600 km north of Yangon and 300 km east of Mandalay).

Yoke Thé - The Art of Myanmar Marionette🎭🇲🇲

Myanmar’s traditional marionette puppet theatre (Yoke Thé) is one of the oldest performing arts in the country, dating back to the royal courts of the Konbaung Dynasty.
With beautifully hand-carved wooden puppets, vibrant costumes, and music from the traditional Saing Waing orchestra, Yoke Thé brings to like stories from Buddhist Jataka tales, the Ramayana (Yama Zatdaw), and Myanmar folklore.
Once a Royal entertainment, it has now become a treasured cultural heritage, continuing to fascinate audiences in Mandalay, Bagan, and beyond.
