Behind the Leaf Coffee Warehouse Drawings.

In case anyone is interested in seeing the plans for this amazing company's amazing warehouse! You are looking at 3 phases worth of building plans that will ultimately be a one stop shop for everything coffee storing and sorting. There will be an office in the front with a cupping room on the second floor. Not to mention a bridge and a lift to hoist coffee up on to the roof for drying on our tables! Coincidentally, our shipping time of the coffee lines up with rainy season. So it was Super important for us to create a space for a large truck to be able to dock in and stay out of the rain while it was being loaded with the delicious coffees!

Behind the Leaf Coffee Warehouse Part 1!

Construction Complete of Phase 1 of this awesome warehouse!

You'll notice the use of locally sourced Interlocking Compressed Earth Blocks (ICEB) that a company in Nyaung Shwe makes. They are a little more expensive to use than regular concrete block but we REALLY like the look of them and they are super strong! This is the very back of the warehouse and will eventually be sealed storage. Protected from rats, sunlight and external elements that could damage, or otherwise change the taste of the specialty coffee.

We used Taungyi tallent, Ma Khin Moe Aye at Soe & Moe Family Co.,Ltd. to oversea the construction process of the warehouse. We couldn't be happy with her level of professionalism and expertise!

Behind the Leaf Coffee Warehouse Part 2!

We had an extra day and thought we'd try our hand at a little artwork! Seeing as none of us had done this before we waited until it was dark and used a projector to cast our image onto the wall! It was still harder than you'd think! Seeing as being 20 feet off the ground on a bamboo ladder adds to the challenge! We did a white basecoat.. and then once I was wearing the right color shorts we painted the rest of this awesome logo. In case you don't see it. The logo is a lady with a Pa-O headdress. They are "Behind the Leaf Coffee" and so that is where you see the leaves come in, and the coffee bean that makes up the profile of her face. So cool! Looking forward to more opportunities for art on those walls!
