Another yearly highlight. After so many years of working together, my film/video editor and dear friend Dejan and I finally got to meet up in person, exploring, wandering, and immersing ourselves in the culture a little. As well as meeting up with Bojan the wonderful person who brought us all together.

Big new looming deadline coming up on the year, so I’m finally able to productive Insta-wise and post some photos from the year, hard drive dump incoming!

Lately I’ve been thinking about something we don’t talk about enough in photography—the relationship that exists behind the images.

It’s easy to think a photo is just a camera pointed at a subject, but for me it’s always been about the connection in between: the quiet language that forms between photographer and the person in front of the lens.

Every time I get to photograph the same person across multiple sessions, I feel that relationship growing—trust deepening, walls lowering, something honest opening up. And you can see it in the images. You can feel it.

This is my third time photographing , and every session reminds me of this idea. The way our connection has grown shapes the way the images look and feel—almost like the relationship becomes another element in the frame.
Just something I’ve been thinking about as we made these.
