🎭✨ What an amazing night!
On June 5, Bitola was filled with the magic of Broadway as we welcomed the spectacular performance of The Music Man Jr. in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.
The talented students from the high schools “Nikola Karev,” “Georgi Dimitrov,” “Rade Jovchevski Korchagin,” and “Orce Nikolov” captivated the audience with their energy, talent, and dedication, bringing this beloved musical to life through unforgettable songs, humor, and heartwarming moments.
A special thank you goes to the directors, professors, and student assistants whose hard work and creativity made this production possible. We are also deeply grateful for the outstanding support and partnership of the NI Center for Culture Bitola, whose hospitality and commitment helped make this wonderful cultural event a reality.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and shared this memorable evening of music, theater, and cultural exchange. Events like these remind us of the power of the arts to bring communities together and create lasting memories. 🎶🎷🇺🇸

A wonderful celebration of learning, creativity, and cultural exchange 🇺🇸✨
We proudly concluded our “50 States, 50 Classes” program with a special final event at American Corner Bitola, where students’ crafts and projects created throughout the program were showcased in a colorful exhibition.
We were honored to welcome Deputy Public Affairs Officer & Cultural Attaché of the U.S. Embassy Skopje, Charles M. Santiago Morales, who addressed the students, congratulated them on their participation, and recognized the dedication of the teachers by presenting certificates of appreciation.
The exhibition highlighted the creativity, curiosity, and hard work of students who spent the past months exploring the history, geography, and culture of all 50 U.S. states. Seeing their ideas and artistic expressions come together in one space was a fitting conclusion to this exciting journey.
A heartfelt thank you to all students, teachers, guest speakers, volunteers, and partners who helped make this program such a meaningful and memorable experience. 💙🌎

From the bright lights of New York to the southern charm of Louisiana 🇺🇸✨
Our “50 States, 50 Classes” journey continued with exciting visits to:

📍 Krste P. Misirkov – Bistrica
📍 Goce Delcev – Bitola
During the sessions, students explored the states of New York, Rhode Island, Louisiana, Connecticut, New Hampshire, New Jersey, and North Carolina through engaging presentations and interactive activities.
Students learned about each state’s geography, culture, traditions, landmarks, and unique stories while actively participating in discussions and creative hands-on learning experiences. From iconic cities and historic sites to coastal landscapes and traditions, every state offered something new to discover. 🌎📚
The sessions were filled with curiosity, teamwork, and creativity, making learning about the United States both fun and inspiring for everyone involved. 💡💙

Exploring Big Sky Country 🇺🇸🌄
As part of our “50 States, 50 Classes” initiative, students from the primary school Goce Delcev in Bitola had the opportunity to discover the state of Montana through an engaging and interactive session.
The presentation was led by Emily Graves, Regional Public Engagement Specialist for Central/South Central Europe, who introduced students to Montana’s geography, culture, landmarks, and natural beauty. Through discussions and interactive activities, students explored what makes the state unique while learning more about the United States.
The session encouraged curiosity, participation, and creativity, making learning both fun and inspiring for everyone involved. 📚✨

From snowy Alaska to tropical Hawaii 🌎🇺🇸
As part of our “50 States, 50 Classes” initiative, students from the primary school Stiv Naumov joined an exciting journey across the United States through an interactive session led by Peace Corps Volunteer Jack Kamps.
Students explored the states of Alaska, Hawaii, North Dakota, and Alabama, learning about their geography, culture, landmarks, traditions, and unique characteristics through engaging presentations and fun discussions.
The session was filled with curiosity, creativity, and active participation, giving students the opportunity to discover the diversity of the United States while building communication and teamwork skills. 📚✨

Exploring the heart of the Midwest 🇺🇸✨
As part of our “50 States, 50 Classes” program, we visited the primary school Elpida Karamandi in Bitola for another exciting session dedicated to discovering the diversity of the United States.
Students had the opportunity to learn about the state of Wisconsin through an engaging presentation led by Vanessa Bordo Flannes, U.S. Embassy Public Affairs Associate. From geography and culture to famous landmarks and traditions, students explored what makes Wisconsin unique.
The session encouraged curiosity, participation, and creativity, with students actively joining discussions and activities throughout the visit. 📚💡

Today at the Corner, we had the honor of welcoming Nicole Varnes, Chargè d’Affaires at the US Embassy in North Macedonia, where she awarded certificates to participants of the Software Development Life Cycle program, organized in partnership with IWConnect.
The program brought together students - aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators eager to strengthen their skills in software development and innovation. During her visit, Ms. Varnes engaged in a discussion with the program facilitators and participants, highlighting the important role of U.S. science and technology in driving global innovation and empowering future leaders in the tech industry.
The event celebrated the participants’ dedication and achievements while reinforcing the value of education, international collaboration, collaboration with the private sector, and innovation in creating new opportunities for young people.
