Eastern European Centre for Multiparty Democracy - EECMD

On 18 March 2025, the Eastern European Centre for Multiparty Democracy (EECMD) convened policymakers, political actors, and experts in Yerevan for the Launch and Presentation of Policy Papers: Armenia’s Political and Strategic Outlook.

This event marked EECMD’s first large-scale event in Armenia and the launch of its programming in the country, setting the stage for engagement and dialogue between the CSOs, experts community and policy makers.

The discussions focused on key issues shaping Armenia’s political trajectory:

DemFest Moldova 2025 – A Place for Everyone!

EECMD is proud to have hosted the very first Democracy Festival in Moldova!

Inspired by Denmark’s People’s festival Folkemødet DemFest Moldova brought together active citizens, political parties, civil society organizations, youth leaders, and international partners - all united by one goal: building a stronger, more inclusive, and more democratic Moldova.

🎪 Throughout the day, participants explored thematic tents, joined debates and presentations, met directly with political representatives, and connected with civil society initiatives.

🎤 We were honored to welcome distinguished speakers and partners, including His Excellency Mr. Søren Jensen, Ambassador of Denmark, and representatives of Danish democracy-support organizations - Danish Liberal Democracy Programme and the Danish Social Liberal political party - Radikale Venstre

🎶 And to end the day on a high note, the incredible SATOSHI lit up the stage and brought the festival to a joyful close!

DemFest Moldova 2025 – Un loc pentru fiecare!

EECMD a avut onoarea de a găzdui primul Festival al Democrației din Moldova!

Inspirat de festivalul popular al democrației din Danemarca, Folkemødet, DemFest Moldova a reunit cetățeni activi, partide politice, organizații ale societății civile, lideri politici și de tineret, precum și parteneri internaționali – toți uniți de un singur scop: construirea unei Moldove mai puternice, mai incluzive și mai democratice.

🎪 Pe parcursul întregii zile, participanții au explorat corturile tematice, au luat parte la dezbateri și prezentări, s-au întâlnit direct cu reprezentanți politici și au descoperit inițiative civice.

🎉 თბილისის ქალთა ლიდერობის აკადემიის მეორე ნაკადი წარმატებით დასრულდა!
👩‍🎓 გასულ კვირას გაეროს ქალთა ორგანიზაციასთან ერთად საზეიმოდ დავაჯილდოვეთ აკადემიის 21 კურსდამთავრებული ქალი, რომლებმაც ბოლო ორი თვის განმავლობაში ინტენსიური სწავლება გაიარეს დემოკრატიის, ლიდერობისა და გენდერული თანასწორობის საკითხების მიმართულებით.
📍 აკადემია გასულ წელს დაინერგა და მის ფარგლებში უკვე გადავამზადეთ 100-ზე მეტი ქალი საქართველოს ოთხი ქალაქიდან.

🎉 The second cohort of the Tbilisi Women’s Leadership Academy has successfully completed the program!
👩‍🎓 Last week, in partnership with UN Women, we proudly celebrated and awarded diplomas to 21 women graduates who completed an intensive two-month training focused on democracy, leadership, and gender equality.
📍 The Academy was launched last year and has already trained over 100 women from four cities across Georgia.
📌 The project is implemented by EECMD within the framework of the UN Women project “Women’s Increased Leadership for Democracy in Georgia,” funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).

🇬🇧 We are thrilled to have officially launched our latest publication- “Mapping“ Moldova’s Political Landscape: Ideologies, Voter Preferences and Party” Dynamics,” - developed by Moldovan political expert Pavel Vintilă.

This important study explores how closely Moldovan political parties align with the values and expectations of voters. Through detailed analysis of ideological positions and public opinion, the report reveals both convergences and critical gaps in representation across Moldova’s political spectrum.

The event brought together representatives of political parties, civil society, the diplomatic community, and researchers — all committed to strengthening democratic dialogue in Moldova.

🇷🇴 Suntem bucuroși să anunțăm lansarea oficială a celei mai noi publicații – „Cartografierea peisajului politic din Republica Moldova: ideologii, preferințe ale alegătorilor și dinamica partidelor” – elaborată de expertul politic din Moldova, Pavel Vintilă.

Acest studiu important analizează cât de bine corespund partidele politice din Moldova valorilor și așteptărilor alegătorilor. Printr-o analiză detaliată a pozițiilor ideologice și a opiniei publice, raportul scoate în evidență atât convergențele, cât și lacunele semnificative în reprezentarea din cadrul spectrului politic moldovenesc.

Evenimentul a reunit reprezentanți ai partidelor politice, ai societății civile, ai corpului diplomatic și cercetători – toți dedicați consolidării dialogului democratic în Republica Moldova.

“აღმოსავლეთ ევროპის ცენტრი მრავალპარტიული დემოკრატიისთვის” (EECMD) წლების განმავლობაში მტკიცედ დგას იმ ღირებულებების გვერდით, რომლებიც ეფუძნება თავისუფალ, ღია და ინკლუზიურ დემოკრატიას.

🟠15 წლის წინ, ჯერ კიდევ მაშინ, როდესაც ორგანიზაცია საქართველოში NIMD-ის (ნიდერლანდების ინსტიტუტი მრავალპარტიული დემოკრატიისთვის) წარმომადგენლობით საქმიანობდა, ჩვენ ვთანამშრომლობდით ყველა დემოკრატიულ ძალასთან — მათ შორის იმ პოლიტიკურ პარტიასთანაც, რომელიც მე-13 წელია ხელისუფლებაშია — რათა შეგვეწყო ხელი მათი ინსტიტუციური გაძლიერებისა და ღირებულებებზე დაფუძნებული განვითარებისათვის.

🎯 EECMD ყოველთვის მყარად იდგა და მომავალშიც დარჩება იმ პოზიციაზე, რომელიც ემსახურება საქართველოს დემოკრატიის განმტკიცებას — პროცესს, რომელიც შეუძლებელია ძლიერი და ღირებულებებზე დაფუძნებული პოლიტიკური აქტორების გარეშე. სწორედ ამიტომ, ორგანიზაცია თავის მანდატს მიმართავს დემოკრატიული პოლიტიკური პარტიებისა და მოძრაობების მხარდასაჭერად — სტრატეგიული დაგეგმვის, ინსტიტუციური შესაძლებლობების გაძლიერებისა და შიდა პარტიული დემოკრატიის განვითარების მიმართულებით. ასევე განსაკუთრებული აქცენტი კეთდება ქალთა პოლიტიკურ მონაწილეობასა და მათ აქტიურ ჩართულობაზე ქვეყნის პოლიტიკურ პროცესებში.

⚠️ დღეს კი, ჩვენ ღრმა შეშფოთებით ვაკვირდებით მმართველი პარტიის მიერ წარდგენილ ახალ საკანონმდებლო ინიციატივათა ‘კრებულს’, რომელიც ეწინააღმდეგება დემოკრატიული პროცესის ფუნდამენტურ ღირებულებებს, ზღუდავს გამოხატვის თავისუფლებას და საფრთხეს უქმნის მრავალპარტიულ სისტემას საქართველოში. წარმოდგენილი კანონთა და ინიციატივათა ერთობა ძირს უთხრის პოლიტიკური აქტორების, მედიის, არასამთავრობო ორგანიზაციების და მათი ბენეფიციარების კეთილდღეობას.

სამართლიანი, გამჭვირვალე და კონკურენტული პოლიტიკური გარემო არ არის მხოლოდ დემოკრატიის მოთხოვნა — ეს არის გზა ქვეყნის განვითარების, ევროპული მომავლისა და მოქალაქეთა კეთილდღეობისკენ.

📢 კიდევ ერთხელ ვადასტურებთ მზადყოფნას, განვაგრძოთ მხარდაჭერა ყველა დემოკრატიულ აქტორთან, რომელიც იცავს დემოკრატიას, სიტყვის თავისუფლებას და მრავალპარტიულ განვითარებას.

ერთად უნდა დავიცვათ ის ღირებულებები, რომლებიც ყველა თავისუფალი საზოგადოების საფუძველია.

📢 We are thrilled to share with you the latest edition of Gender Ranking of Georgian Political Parties!

📌The research will allow interested parties to better understand the prerequisites for increasing women's involvement in Georgia's political arena and to assess the situation regarding this issue within individual political parties.

📌The Gender Equality Index for political parties evaluates them across three main dimensions: electoral, institutional (internal party, organizational), and programmatic.

📢 EECMD-მ რიგით პირველ „ქალთა ლიდერობის ბანაკს“ უმასპინძლა! 🎉

📌 ბანაკში მონაწილეობას იღებდნენ „ქალთა ლიდერობის აკადემიების“ აქტიური ქალი ლიდერები საქართველოს ოთხი რეგიონიდან.

📌 ერთი კვირის განმავლობაში, ბანაკს სტუმრობდნენ გამორჩეული ადგილობრივი და საერთაშორისო ექსპერტები, პრაქტიკოსები და ქალი პოლიტიკოსები, რომლებმაც მონაწილეებს ლექციებით, ინტერაქტიული ვორქშოფებით, სიმულაციებითა და მენტორობის სესიებით გაუზიარეს ცოდნა და გამოცდილება.

📢 EECMD hosted its first "Women’s Leadership Bootcamp"! 🎉

📌 The bootcamp brought together active women leaders from the Women’s Leadership Academies across four regions of Georgia.

📌 Throughout the week, the camp welcomed distinguished local and international experts, practitioners, and women politicians, who shared their knowledge and experience through lectures, interactive workshops, simulations, and mentoring sessions.

📣 We extend our gratitude to UN Women and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation for their support of this important project.
