Our first trip to the Beni Ouarain region.

I remember the road winding endlessly through the mountains, the wool drying outside homes like flags of softness and the friendly waves of people as we drove past.

Zohra and I were welcomed with tea, laughter and generous food offerings. We sat on the earth, learning, listening, watching a rug take shape not just through threads, but through lives.

A rug from this first journey now lives in a modern home across the world. A bridge between two worlds.

This post isn’t just about a rug, it’s about the beautiful, woven path that took us from remote villages to global homes, one connection at a time.

COL165 Vintage Rehamna Rug

Immerse your space in the powerful allure of this vintage Rehamna piece, a striking example of Haouz weaving tradition. Deep stone‑red hues form the foundation, symbolizing strength and heritage, while accents of ivory, burnt orange, and mustard yellow bring warmth and vibrancy. Black outlining frames the expressive motifs, and hints of blush pink soften the unexpected harmonies.

Vertical rows of elongated lozenges, dotted lines, and tribal symbols flow across the field, each unique in size and placement, giving the rug its spontaneous energy. Tightly patterned flatweave ends in black and orange, complete with goat hair fringe, underscore its authenticity and craftsmanship.

FC136 A stunning vintage flatweave from the Zayane region. This piece is a bold and intricate statement of Moroccan textile heritage. Handwoven in rich earthy tones of deep burgundy, indigo, rust, ochre, and saffron yellow, this kilim tells its story through symmetry and rhythm.
Its horizontal bands alternate between solid colors and geometric patterns, diamonds, zigzags, and chevrons. Woven with technical precision and finished with knotted tassels, this piece captures the soul of Zayane craftsmanship.

This marvelous older Azilal rug is a joyful testament to Berber freestyle weaving, where tradition meets instinct and every knot carries a thought. An irregular lattice in a kaleidoscope of hues flows across the field, revealing abstract motifs as if whispered from memory. Toward the end, the weave loosens into a more shaggy pile, a playful shift in texture, and a final stroke of expression.

Woven with the wool and colors the weaver had at hand, this piece speaks of creativity born from limitation, and beauty shaped by spontaneity.

A quiet beauty from another time. This very old vintage Rehamna rug has aged with grace, its colors softened by the years. A large lozenge motif still whispers in soft pink, resting in an almost faded field of sage green, with warm hints of brown and a vibrant patch of green that resisted time.

Measuring 243 x 136 cm, it’s a delicate piece, not for high-traffic paths, but perfect as floor poetry in a quiet corner, or as a striking wall hanging. A gentle reminder, some stories are best told in hushed tones.

COL548 Faded stone red at its core, this vintage Rehamna rug is a true reflection of its origins. A stunning abstract composition woven with Berber symbolism, tells a story through every knot and color shift. Soft pale pink, subtle sage, hints of orange, and bold black accents create a visual rhythm that draws you in.

Finished with flatweave borders and dark goat hair edges that highlight its tribal essence. This piece is all wool, in excellent condition, and ready to anchor any space with warmth and character.

FC374 A very pretty kilim from the Middle Atlas region. Its light background gives it a neutral appearance yet there are lovely pops of color incorporated in the motifs.
