The Secret Marrakech Hides:Escape 47°C (116.6°F) City Heat for 23°C (73.4°F) Imlil,The Atlas Mountains Village —Just 65 km (40 Miles) Away 17/08/2026

I discovered a simple escape from Marrakech’s oven: Imlil. Ninety minutes and 1,800 vertical metres from the medina, the mountain air drops the temperature by up to 30°C — pine-scented mornings, cool evenings and real silence instead of traffic.

No summit required: walk between terraced fields, sip mint tea on a balcony facing Toubkal, or choose a lodge close to the road so your knees (and luggage) thank you. From luxe kasbahs to budget gems with 9+ ratings, there’s a mountain room for every taste.

If the August heat is pushing 47°C in the city, drive up instead of driving out to the crowded coast. Bring a jacket, sun protection and cash. And—most importantly—watch the sky: mountain rivers change fast; respect the water.

La medina de Marrakech explicada en 60 segundos. 28/07/2026

I’ve walked the alleys of the Medina enough to know its secret: it isn’t a maze, it’s a map of stories. Start with the babs (the gates) and each door will lead you to a different Marrakech — from the royal Kasbah to the leather-scented lanes of Bab Debbagh, the bustling Jemaa el‑Fna and the antique treasures of Bab El Khemis.

This quick guide explains how the Medina is organised so you can wander with purpose — and still let it surprise you. Read the full piece for a district-by-district look, where to stay and what to expect on foot. Tell me: which gate would you step through first? ✨🕌

I’ve been watching RISMA’s quiet revolution in Morocco’s hotel scene — and it matters to anyone who cares about luxury stays. The signs still read Accor, but 21 hotels are now run day-to-day by RISMA: payroll, purchasing, people. Financially it’s smart — higher margins, stronger balance sheet, big capital moves like the Sofitel sale and the Dakhla buy — yet the real test is what happens at reception tomorrow morning.

I wrote about why this shift could redefine luxury hospitality in Morocco: the talent gap, inflation risks, brand audits and the gamble of turning owners into operators. If RISMA gets the daily service right, travellers will notice. If they don’t, shareholders will see the cost.

Cuando la masa se convierte en un peligro: la industria de los globos aerostáticos en Marrakech. 23/04/2026

I dug into how Marrakech’s balloon scene went from exclusive skies to crowded airspace — and why cheap, subsidy-fuelled offers can become a safety problem.

On paper, subsidies and steady weather opened the market. In practice, rapid volume growth, older equipment and pressure to fly daily created real risks. In May 2025 authorities sanctioned a dozen operators; licences were revoked or suspended after documented safety breaches.

If you care about authentic, safe luxury experiences, these are the facts behind the headlines — and why careful vetting matters when choosing premium travel. Read my full analysis and what regulators are doing next: https://www.peter.ma/es/post/cuando-la-masa-se-convierte-en-un-peligro-la-industria-de-los-globos-aerost%C3%A1ticos-en-marrakech

What would you ask a provider before booking a balloon flight? Share below — let’s start the conversation. ☕️🎈
