There’s no denying that Facebook ads is the “ideal” way to boost your sales and improve brand awareness, and the more we spend, the merrier. Unfortunately, it isn’t always the case.
If you often end up with little to no conversion after spending a considerable amount on FB ads. You’re doing something wrong and that may be one of these mistakes.
1. You’re lacking clear objectives
Knowing your objective before starting out will help you tremendously in developing the right strategy for your marketing campaign. Create an action plan with the right goals and the right KPIs. These are the common goals that marketers often go for: improve brand awareness, engagement, web traffic, lead generation, or sales…
2. Too much text
It can also be the other way around. Overdoing the amount of ad copy will only harm your conversion rate. Although, Facebook doesn’t have strict rules about it, it is advisable to avoid it.
3. You’re targeting the wrong audience
No matter how sharp and attractive your ad may be, sometimes, as hard as it sounds, people don’t care that much.
That’s because you’re targeting the wrong audience.
Taking your audience demographics into consideration is a crucial for better performances. These include age, gender, religion, ethnic background, class, sexual orientation, occupation, education, group membership and many other specifications. These can help you figuring out which niche deserves your attention, how do they behave, and what type of ads will react with.
4. You’re running too many ads on a tight budget
Creating too many ad accounts will only reduce your campaign’s efficiency. Instead, use one single ad account that runs multiple campaigns and has too many Ad sets.

Using social media is for everyone, but making a profit from it isn’t. The key success lies in using it strategically, of course, that includes busting myths that are unfortunately, still persistent till now.
1. You need to be present in all platforms
Big NO! Just because your favorite brand uses every social platform there is and is successful at it, doesn’t mean you will be.
If you don’t have enough resources, it is best to focus your efforts in the platform that suits you the best, but let’s face, even if you do have it, why would you waste time engaging an audience that doesn’t exist in the first place?
2. Success depends on the number of followers you have
the size of your audience obviously matters, but your audience’s engagement matters more.
3. Hashtags, hashtags, hashtags!
Flash news: you don’t have to hashtag the living out of every post you make. As surprising as it looks, it makes you look unprofessional.
There’s no denying that hashtags are a great tool to boost your social media account but too much of anything is bad. Over-hashtaging can be perceived as spammy, which is a rapid turn-off. Research has shown that posts with more than 2 hashtags in Twitter have a 17% drop in engagement.
4. You don’t need a website if you have social media
While you certainly can’t ignore social media, don’t make it your number one strategy for traffic and leads. Just a simple, easy-to-navigate website is more that enough to get your business going, nothing fancy.
5. Social media is free
Technically, social media is free. But these days, the organic reach of most Facebook posts is less than 3%. Running a social presence now requires an investment of resources (SEO tools, analytics software monthly subscription…)
