World Space Week- Ifrane
It is a once a year world wide event held on October 4-10 that celebrates sciences and technology.
The theme of this year's World Space Week is Exploring Mars, Discovering Earth. The World Space Week is an international celebration of science and technology. It has been declared by United Nation General Assembly in 1999 to take place every year during the 4-10 October. This year, as well, Morocco is participating in this feast and the Astronomy Club is taking charge of its celebration in Ifrane

Dear All,
The celebration of the World Space Week- Ifrane has just finished. We are very happy and proud to lead/share this international event in Morocco and to be connected at the international level with Austria, Germany and United State of America. Thank you all for being part of this event, special thank to the Österreichisches Weltraum Forum / Austrian Space Forum,Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane, Al Akhwayn school in Ifrane, Bir Anzarane primary school and every person who contributed in the success of this event.
The AUI Astronomy Club would like to thank every single person who participated and/or attended the activities of this Week of space celebration. Thank you for your support, your patient, your time, and for your continuous passion. We hope to collaborate more and more with you and to make these bounds stronger and stronger.
Astronomically we hope to see you in next editions.
Officially the WSW was closed in many countries across the globe, as it is time for us to close out the week in Morocco. It was an intense pleasure organizing all the activities, teleconferences, workshops, presentations and much more. We would like to thank every person who had a contribution to this event's success, devoted members, dedicated volunteers, as well as all the attendees and participants throughout the week. Hoping for a better and more productive WSW next year.

As today being the last day of the World Space Week event, we are planning some activities and a closing ceremony to finish with. Don't forget to dress up your suit and bring yourself to the Conference Room- old game room- to attend a projection, a rovers controlling from Michigan and a closing ceremony to cloture this great event!!

Stay tuned, as you will witness this afternoon a presentation about the Austrian Space Forum as well as opportunities of interships. Following that we will be teleconferencing with the MDRS (Mars Desert Research Station in Utah) starting 5 pm. Eventually the activities would close with by Rovers teleconferencing with GERMANY Mission Control Center.

Al Akhawayn Astronomy Club has officially marked the history of Astronomy in AL Akhawayn, Ifrane, Morocco and even World Wide!
With the presence of Al Akhawayn University President, Vice-Presidents, the world space week national coordinator, and other faculty members we were pleased to represent Morocco for the launching of the World Space Week- Ifrane in our beloved country! We were directly talking to the Mission Control Center in Innsbruck, Austria giving us the green light for the GO of the World Space Week in Morocco! The event has started at 11:15 AM from the Conference Room in Al Akhawayn University reaching Casablanca, Agadir, Marrakech, and other cities in Morocco! During the week we will have other Google+ Hangout sessions with people in Germany, Michigan and Utah state to teleconference and have access to their mission rovers directly; keep watching the program.
The Astronomy Club, would like to thank the National Coordinator who gave us the permission to represent Morocco and for our International Partners to make this first foot print world wide!
