The pavilion connects human movement with light. The light at its core grows brighter and more vibrant based on the energy generated by people’s movements, which encourages everyone to create a more vibrant space together.
Using sensors, the system tracks the number and speed of people inside, adjusting the tone, intensity, and saturation of the light in real-time. This creates an architecture that interacts with the movements of the city, telling a story of the city’s energy through its shifting light.

Performance Pavilion,
Finalist proposal by .studio for , contemporary arts festival ‘Yet It Moves,’ explores the theme of motion as an omnipresent phenomenon, raising our awareness of the many complex movement patterns in which we are all entangled.
The pavilion is an immersive installation that connects human movement with light. Blending architecture with insights from the fashion industry and the technology of point cloud scanning.

The future doesn't just show up. We design it. And sometimes, that work gets noticed. We're happy onlyonly studio has three nominations for The National Design Award of Latvia.
Daydreamer
In a world that relentlessly demands our attention, what if we designed an invitation to deliberately disconnect? To explore the space between doing and simply being? "Daydreamer" is our physical answer. Crafted from natural latex and stainless steel, it’s less a seat and more a dialogue with oneself. We showed "Daydreamer" at the Design Biennale Rotterdam and COLLECTIBLE Design Fair Brussels. It shows how we challenge norms and explore materials.
Home Ground
Design needs a supportive local community. We co-founded "Home Ground", a platform for this. It gives five emerging Latvian design studios (Studio Sija, ourselves onlyonly studio, gateris.works, Dace Sūna, Anna priede) a place to share their new ideas. Design's future is collaborative. Exhibition in SPORTA 2 was made possible with support from forward-thinkers like Bauroc SIA, special thanks to Jolanta Skutele and Māris Cimmermanis.
We are part of nominated community driven design events in Lucavsala.
What if design builds community? "Kopienas Dizains" project with the "Lucavsalas kopienas dārzs" Lucavsalas kopienas dārzs (Kristaps Šulcs, Elīza Brice, Emīls Hlevickis) and community «Lucavsala» explored this. Together, we didn’t just build DIY garden furniture; we helped craft a piece of new identity for a shared urban space, with blueprints open for all. Design as a shared language, a shared action.
A heartfelt thank you to our collaborators!

Where history meets now - our latest intervention at Riga Central Market glows like a lantern as dusk falls. Metallic curtains dance beneath century-old Zeppelin hangar trusses, creating a dreamy space for gastro-experiences in Europe’s largest market. Sometimes the most beautiful design happens when you let old and new have a conversation 🌙
This project was commissioned by Riga Municipality service company Rīgas nami.
Special thanks to:

A project born from the heart of Turkish tradition, selected by the Turkish Design Council ( ) from a sea of other proposals from all over of Europe. In 2022, we found ourselves in Istanbul, collaborating with master craftsmen, and later showcasing our work at the ‘Beyond Crafts’ exhibition. Fast forward to 2023, and we’re at the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven, Netherlands.
Enter ‘Soft Body’—a deep dive into the world of the yorğan, the traditional Turkish quilt. These quilts, crafted by men, are more than just fabric; they’re woven into the very fabric of life’s milestones—birth, marriage, death. The word ‘yorğan’ itself means ‘to wrap up,’ a nod to its role in embracing life’s moments.
But what if we dared to reimagine it? Could a quilt transcend its two-dimensional form? Could it become fluid, versatile, a chameleon of sorts? These questions led us on a journey of exploration, challenging the quilt’s conventional role. We transformed it into a three-dimensional marvel—a seating cover, a fashion statement, a car cover, even a room divider.
‘Soft Body’ breaks free from tradition, inviting new interpretations and meanings —finding inspiration in the unexpected, allowing projects to evolve naturally.

Our latest workshop united the Lucavsala community to craft something unique — affordable, DIY garden furniture that helps forge a new identity for Lucavsala! 🪑💚🌿
Many discovered the joy of building their own chair in the wild heart of our city. Some were so into it, they didn’t stop at just one, but built multiple chairs! The workshop, which spanned over two sunny afternoons, involved painting, sanding, sawing, and building alongside local residents and guests in the garden.
Exciting news: the blueprints for these designs will soon be available as open-source, so everyone can get involved!
