⚽ This week, Sportunity hosted a friendly football tournament bringing together refugees and AXA Assurances Luxembourg 🇱🇺 employees on the same pitch.

At Sportunity, we believe that social inclusion starts with connection. And a simple football match can become the beginning of new friendships, greater understanding and stronger social bonds between people who might never have met otherwise.

The evening was full of movement, energy and teamwork. Mixed teams quickly found their rhythm on the pitch, passing the ball, cheering each other on, and sharing plenty of smiles along the way.

After the final whistle, nobody rushed home. Everyone stayed for snacks, drinks and long conversations. The pitch energy turned into a relaxed after-match gathering.

A big thank you to AXA Luxembourg for joining us and helping make Luxembourg a more welcoming and inclusive place for everyone.

And thank you to our coach Omar Ramos for guiding the game and being part of the evening.

Last week the Sportunity team ran a 4-day holiday camp for children from refugee families from Ukraine, Venezuela and Eritrea 💛

The programme combined discovery, learning and sport. Every day brought a new adventure, new experiences and new opportunities to connect, have fun and grow together.

We explored science through hands-on experiments at the Luxembourg Science Center, challenged ourselves at Steinfort Adventure rope park, enjoyed a fun-filled visit to Galaxy Game Center, and took part in a special meeting with Dali Zhu at Kaito restaurant.

Sport remained at the heart of the programme. Throughout the week, the children trained in football, volleyball and karate, developing not only their physical skills but also confidence, teamwork and perseverance.

We learned, played, challenged ourselves, made new friends and created memories that will stay with us long after the camp has ended.

A big thank you to everyone who helped make this camp possible 💛

One of the unique features of our holiday camps for kids this year is the opportunity to meet inspiring personalities from different fields and hear their stories firsthand.

During this camp, we were delighted to welcome Dali Zhu — the mayor of Contern, one of the few mayors in Luxembourg with foreign roots, as well as an entrepreneur and sports enthusiast.

Dali shared his personal journey with the children, speaking openly about his experiences, the challenges he faced and the choices that shaped his path. From building a successful business to taking on responsibilities in local politics, his story showed that there is no single route to success and that perseverance, curiosity and hard work can open many doors.

The children were especially curious about how Dali balances entrepreneurship, public service and his personal interests, what motivates him on his journey.

The conversation was warm, honest and engaging. Beyond learning about one person's achievements, kids were encouraged to think about their own future possibilities, the importance of commitment and the value of believing in themselves.

We are grateful to Dali Zhu for taking the time to meet our group, share his experiences and inspire the next generation.

Special thanks to photographer Kateryna Mostova photographer for beautifully capturing these moments 📸

A few days later, and we are still thinking about our hike in Wiltz 🌿☀️

As part of our multicultural hiking series Chemins Croisés, we spent a truly memorable day together discovering both the nature and festive atmosphere of this beautiful town in the north of Luxembourg.

What a beautiful and intense day it was - full of nature, conversations, music, laughter, and new connections. Even the +33°C heat could not stop our group from enjoying every part of the experience together: walking through the forest, exploring the city, sharing conversations, and discovering one of Luxembourg’s spring traditions.

The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the flower parade. Streets filled with music, colorful decorations, flowers, dancing groups, and festive energy created a truly special atmosphere. There was something joyful and heartwarming in seeing so many different people gathered together to celebrate local culture.

And a special thank you to our photographer, Kateryna Mostova photographer, for capturing so many warm and lively moments from this day 📸

Looking back at these photos, we are once again reminded how meaningful it is to create spaces where people can meet, walk, talk, and simply enjoy a day together 💛

Yesterday, our third Chemins croisés hike brought us to Wiltz for the colorful Geenzefest - and what a day it was ☀️🌿

Despite the intense summer heat of +33°C, our multicultural group spent the day walking both through the city and the nearby forest, sharing conversations, discovering local traditions, and enjoying nature together.

The highlight of the day was experiencing the festive atmosphere of Geenzefest with its famous flower parade, music, and vibrant streets full of people celebrating spring and local culture.

From shaded forest paths to the heart of the festival, the day became another beautiful reminder of how outdoor activities can connect people from different countries and backgrounds.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and shared this very warm - in every sense - day together 💛

The marathon is already over, but we are still full of the energy, emotions, and excitement of that incredible night ✨

Smiles, tired legs, loud cheering, children running with excitement, volunteers sharing encouragement, runners giving their final push before the finish line — this is what the ING Night Marathon Luxembourg looked like through the eyes of Sportunity team.

Thank you to everyone who shared this experience with us and helped make this yearly tradition so special.
