In the first quarter of 2026, the EU’s imports of petroleum oil remained stable compared with the monthly average in 2025. ⛽🌍
🔸Petroleum oils: value of imports rose slightly (+0.8%), volume recorded a minor decrease (-0.6%).
🔸Liquefied gas: imports decreased by 8.0% in value but increased by 2.9% in volume.
🔸Natural gas in gaseous state: drops both in value (-12.7%) and volume (-4.0%).
During this period, the main suppliers of petroleum oil to the EU were the 🇺🇸 United States with 17.8% of trade in value.
🔹 The majority of liquefied natural gas was also imported from the 🇺🇸 United States (57.4%).
🔹 🇳🇴 Norway was the main supplier of natural gas in its gaseous state (54.4%).

In 2024, 9.8 million tonnes of mineral fertilisers (nitrogen and phosphorus) were used in agricultural production across the EU. 🛢️🚜
🔹This represented a 6.0% increase compared with the quantity used in 2023 (9.2 million tonnes), though it remained 15.8% below the relative peak in 2017.

Between 2015 and 2025, construction prices for new residential buildings (excluding residences for communities) increased by 48.2% across the EU. 🏡🏠
Prices rose the most quickly during the past decade in:

🇭🇺Hungary (+155.4%)
🇷🇴Romania (+130.7%)
Slowest rises in:
🇮🇹Italy (+17.0%)

In 2025, women held 33.6% of the seats in national parliaments across the EU, marking a 5.4 percentage points (pp) increase compared with 2015.

🔹Compared with 2015, all EU countries recorded increases in the share of female representatives, except 🇩🇪Germany (-3.5 pp).
