🌼 From flowers to festivals, what does May Day look like across Europe?

Our neighboring countries, France and Belgium, mark the beginning of May with sprigs of lily of the valley, a symbol of happiness and good fortune, while in Germany, May dances bring communities together in a lively celebration of the season.

In Luxembourg, a particularly charming tradition takes center stage: the “Meekranz.” This beautifully decorated wreath reflects the spirit of spring and serves as a reminder of growth, renewal, and the strength of community ties.

While customs vary from place to place, the sense of joy they carry is universal. How do you celebrate?

Deserts may seem silent, but they tell powerful stories to those who look closer.

With “Déserts du monde,” photographer Philippe Bourseiller captures these stories through striking images that reveal the diversity of desert ecosystems and the impact of climate change on them.

Supported by the in collaboration with the Service de coordination de la recherche et de l'innovation pédagogiques et technologiques (SCRIPT), the exhibition is enriched with educational content designed for schools across Luxembourg.

By blending art and science, this initiative invited students to question, explore, and better understand the world around them, while reflecting our ongoing commitment to supporting meaningful educational experiences.

🌍 Earth Day is a reminder of the work that matters, but for us, meaningful impact is continuous.

Our new Inner Street installation set the scene for our celebrations. Today we went fully vegetarian with a sustainable menu in our canteen and cafeteria, supporting local producers while nourishing both our people and the planet.

Throughout the month, our colleagues have also been participating in various activities, including a movie screening with Alimen’Terre and district cleanup sessions with Serve the City and Hëllef fir d’Natur, proving that every small action can leave a big mark.

We will continue our Earth Month efforts with the “no elevator week,” challenging our people to take the stairs and reduce their environmental impact, one step at a time.
