A Luxembourgish team is currently participating in the 24th European Union Youth Chess Championship in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm in the Czech Republic. The Luxembourgish delegation is represented in all categories (U8, U10, U12, U14) by six players and is supported online by the coach CM Nikos Komninos.

La Nuit du Sport. Everything is set!

The chess season came to an end with the medal ceremony for our young players, followed by a wonderful pizza party that brought children and parents together around the chessboards one last time before the summer break.

🥇 Jan Frisch (Bartreng) – 6,5 Punkten
🥈 Nikolai Solovev (Bartreng) – 5,5 Punkten
🥉 Philippe Weber (Schëffleng) – 5,5 Punkten

Och am C-Championnat huet den Nowues dominéiert: mam Jan (U14) an Nikolai (U10) sinn zwee ganz jonk Bartrenger Jugendspiller op déi éischt zwou Plaze komm. Mat 63 Spiller war d'C-Kategorie ganz gutt besat.

🥇 Jan Frisch (Bartreng) – 6.5 points
🥈 Nikolai Solovev (Bartreng) – 5.5 points
🥉 Philippe Weber (Schëffleng) – 5.5 points

The C Championship was also dominated by young players: with Jan (U14) and Nikolai (U10), two very young players from Bartreng finished in the top two places. With 63 players, the C category was very well attended.

Breaking news!! 📢📢Jan is officially Champion of Luxembourg 2026 in Category C with 6.5/7 and right behind him, Nikolai our U10 Nation Champion. Unfortunately we lost the 3rd place 😭😭😭
