This spring, MRU became a meeting place for international ERUA students from across Europe. Two intensive courses brought together theory, practice and international collaboration in Vilnius. 🌍

In the course “Children’s Rights in Action”, students explored key issues related to children’s rights protection, analysed real-life cases and met with experts and representatives of child protection institutions. Meanwhile, participants of “Crime Scene Investigation” gained hands-on experience in forensic methods, evidence collection and crime scene analysis. 🔍

These programmes are another example of how the ERUA alliance strengthens international cooperation and practice-based learning.

On May 15, the traditional “Celebration of Scientific Thought” took place at Mykolas Romeris University (MRU), dedicated to commemorating the birthday of Professor Mykolas Römeris. The event brought together members of the University community, students, alumni, the professor’s relatives, and guests to honor his ideas, academic legacy, and contribution to Lithuanian statehood.

The celebration featured musical performances, ceremonial presentations of MRU Senate honorary awards, and moving readings by students of the professor’s daughter’s memories about her father. Professor Dr. Ieva Deviatnikovaitė also delivered a lecture on Mykolas Römeris’ activities and his contribution to the development of Lithuanian statehood.

Special attention during the event was devoted to young creators’ initiatives and innovative interpretations of history. The winners of the essay competition organized for students of Obeliai Gymnasium in the Rokiškis district were awarded, along with sixteen students from various MRU faculties and one student team for the best works submitted to the publication “Celebration of Scientific Thought 2026.”

Participants also had the opportunity to explore AI-generated video projects titled “Mykolas Römeris Between History and the Algorithm” and a virtual exhibition presenting the professor’s life and work.

We sincerely thank everyone who contributed to this meaningful celebration and continues to foster the ideas of Professor Mykolas Römeris in today’s society.
