Last week, our Team Lead Edvinas Vitkus delivered a lecture to Vilnius University students – "The Anatomy of a Software Development Team." Which roles are growing, which are transforming, how teams work, and what to learn now as AI reshapes the way teams operate.

And yesterday, our People and Culture team joined VU Career Days – meeting students face to face, talking about the tech world, and giving them a real sense of what a career in IT could look like.

Two different formats. The same intent: sharing what we know with people who are at the start of their journey – and making sure the answers are worth something.

Curiosity deserves a proper answer.
Last week, we hosted a group of Code Academy students – different backgrounds, different ages, curious about where IT is headed. We talked through Metasite's culture and how we work, and our Software Architect Donatas Zubavicius joined to discuss AI – what it changes, what it doesn't, and where the real opportunities are.
We believe the IT industry grows when experienced teams share what they've learned – and the people who will shape it in the near future get real answers while the questions are still fresh.

Balancing innovation with stability requires selecting the most effective architectural approaches, languages, platforms and tools. To strengthen this further, Metasite is introducing Technology Strategy Leads - providing broader strategic direction alongside the excellence ensured by our Competence Leaders.

We’re proud to announce that our Software Architects Danielius Jurna and Donatas Zubavičius are taking on this responsibility. 🎉

Danielius, a Software Architect with over 16 years at Metasite, is known for his strategic mindset and ability to bring clarity to complex technical discussions. Reflecting on the future, he notes: “AI is the biggest disruptor of software development in recent years, and I envision it as both our competitive differentiator and operational backbone.”

Donatas, a Software Architect with over 6 years at Metasite, has been a driving force in major client deliveries and part of the team recognised as Dev Team of the Year at Build Stuff 2023. Looking ahead, he shares: “What excites me most is navigating through the stream of new technologies and discovering those that genuinely make a difference.”

Congratulations to both on these thoroughly deserved appointments - a step that will further strengthen our technology leadership. 👏

We’re pleased to share that Jurga Rozgaite Ratner has taken on the role of CEO at Metasite. 👏 Jurga has been with the company for over 17 years, most recently as Chief Operating Officer, and has been instrumental in shaping our growth, culture, and delivery excellence.

We’ve also strengthened our executive team:

- Valentinas Bogdanovičius, with Metasite for 17 years, has been appointed Chief Client Officer.

- Sandra Giedraitiene, part of our team for 10 years, is now Chief Delivery Officer.

These appointments reflect the strength and depth of our leadership bench and our continued focus on building lasting partnerships and delivering outstanding outcomes for our clients.

“Metasite has always been defined by its people - their talent, values, and relentless focus on quality,” said Jurga. “I’m honoured to take on this role and excited to build on the momentum we’ve created together.”

2024 was the strongest year in Metasite’s history - marked by revenue growth, improved profitability, and industry-leading client satisfaction (CSAT 4.83/5). That momentum has continued into 2025, with new key client wins and expanded work with our long-standing partners.

“I’m proud of the team we’ve built and the trust our clients place in us,” said Aldas Kirvaitis, Metasite’s founder and chairman. “Jurga’s appointment as CEO is a natural next step as we continue to grow with focus and integrity.”

We also thank Aurelijus Norkūnas for his leadership over the past three years. He moved on earlier this year for personal reasons, and we sincerely wish him all the very best in his next chapter - we’ll be following his next venture with great interest.

🌱 Last week, twelve of us from Metasite joined forces with hold.earth for a tree planting event — and it was amazing!

In just one hour, we planted 300 birch and spruce seedlings. These young trees will grow into a natural forest on land where no forest had ever stood before — degraded land near the Kazimieravas Ornithological Reserve. Even better, this land will never be clear-cut, so the forest we helped start will thrive for generations. 🌲

We got our hands dirty, shared plenty of laughs, and left with a deep sense of purpose. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that this small act contributes not only to a greener planet, but also brings new life to the soil and supports local biodiversity.

☺️ 18 years, countless projects, and a lot of memories! Laura recently marked an amazing milestone at Metasite, and we couldn’t resist asking her to share some reflections from her journey.

What was Metasite like when you first joined?

– The team I joined was responsible for developing websites for the banking sector. As a young specialist just starting my career, I was deeply impressed by the fact that such major solutions and systems were being developed by a team of just a few people. That was probably the first time I saw the strengths and potential of a truly professional, well-coordinated team that had full trust from management and offered real opportunities for professional growth. Even now, I’m especially inspired and fascinated by how much can be achieved through teamwork—how a group can move from complete uncertainty to delivering impressive results together.

Even back then, Metasite had a prevailing atmosphere of trust and coaching, which meant I had the support and opportunities to contribute to projects across almost all stages—analysis, design, quality assurance, content management, and more. It was a great environment for professional development.And it’s lovely that this atmosphere is still here today.

What’s one project or moment that really stuck with you?

– There have been so many of them, and all so different. What stuck with me most were the projects/systems that I had to take over once they were already built, rather than creating them from scratch. And it was always a great experience to realise that, even if at first the domain, business logic, and functionality all seemed complex and difficult to grasp, there was always this exciting journey of discovery and understanding that led to that “aha” moment—when everything suddenly made sense and became fully clear.

We’re proud to have colleagues like Laura who make Metasite what it is today. Congratulations again on 18 inspiring years! 🎉
