Back in 2013, a commercial building in Bangladesh called Rana Plaza collapsed, killing 1,138 people and leaving many more injured. A lot of those people were garment factory workers, who worked for years in an unsafe environment. A response to the tragedy came in the form of the creation of Fashion Revolution. A non-profit global movement that campaigns for reforms in the fashion industry focused on transparency by clothing brands about their supply chain. Their mission is to unite people and organizations to work together towards radically changing the way our clothes are sourced, produced and consumed. That’s how the Fashion Revolution created the hashtag you are seeing everywhere “Who made my clothes?”.

Over the years, the movement generated millions of supporters, which led to more and more manufacturers taking steps to make factories safer. The entire supply chain of fashion is becoming more transparent and that is visible not only among garment manufacturers, but also among the manufacturers of fashion accessories. As a buttons producer we happily take part in forming a transparent environment within our reach and thus, at FM buttons our mission is to show who made your buttons!

We aren’t clothing manufactures, but the buttons we produce are used on the garments. Even though it only makes up a small part of the final product, we believe that even something as small as a button matters. At Fmbuttons we take sustainability very seriously and thus, we create buttons that are more sustainable than the ones created yesterday.
